# [[Customer Personas]]
A customer persona is a [[Marketing]] term for the a specific type of user profile for a product. Creating customer personas is part of [[Know your audience|knowing your audience]].
Customer personas should be used in the formulation of [[Value Propositions]], so that each persona understands the concrete value they would get from using a product.
For example, typical customer personas for a load testing SaaS platform would be:
- Performance testers who already know how to run performance tests, but want to run them better/cheaper/more conviently
- Other types of testers who are cross-skilling
- Developers who know how to script, but have not created a workload model
- Managers of testing and development teams who won't do the coding or testing, but need to lead their teams to do so
- Chief Technical Officers (CTOs) who want to know what the platform does on a high level so they can decide whether or not to adopt it for their organizations
