# Dynamic microphone A dynamic microphone is a class of microphones that lend itself well to vocals, live performances (including streaming), or audio in a non-treated room. Compared to a [[Condenser microphone]], dynamic microphones tend to be visible on videos because they need to be really close to someone's mouth to be effective. When they pick up voices that are close to them, they tend to add a lot of base, which sounds really pleasing. They tend to pick up noises directly in front of them and they reject noises to the side and behind them. This makes them particularly well-suited for streamers, who often have a keyboard behind their microphones. ## Examples of dynamic microphones - Shure SM7B - [[Røde PodMic]] - [[Røde Procaster]]
