# My Editing Workflow Here's what my editing passes looked like for a video I did recently, a presentation for a conference. ## Pass 1 - Assemble main timeline - sync multicam clips, arrange in chronological order (no cuts) - Delete all but main audio (best quality) - Fix audio (automatic audio processing) - Total length: 4:05:05 ![[fcpx-starting_point_automationguild.png]] ## Pass 2 - Rough cuts to choose the best/mistake-free take - Remove major pauses and repetitions - Re-record B-roll that didn't make sense - Total length: 0:36:45 ![[fcpx-editingpass2.png]] ## Pass 3 - Choose between the three video shots and format the others (PIP) - Add Music - Motion graphics - Sound effects - Granular cuts - Extra B-roll and stock footage - Transitions - Final length: 0:25:44 ![[fcpx-editingpass3.png]]
