OKR stands for Objective and Key Results. OKR is a methodology that is used for setting goals and increasing general [[Productivity]]. The methodology consists of three different components: - Objectives - Key Results - Initiatives ## Objectives Objectives are high-level statements of what you want to accomplish. Objectives are abstract, but describe the direction you want to go in. Examples: - Become healthier - Improve Twitter following - Read more books ## Key Results Key Results are ways to measure objectives. By their very nature, they are [[Lag indicator]]s, but they are useful in quantitatively determining whether you have achieved your objective or not. [^davies] Key Results are often expressed as measures. Examples: - 20 kg. weight lost - 1,000 subscribers on Twitter - 100 books read ## Initiatives Initiatives are the [[Lead indicator]] counterpart to Key Results. They are projects or tasks that you start that will help you work towards your goal. They are often expressed in the imperative. Examples: - Exercise three times a week. - Tweet every day. - Set aside 30 minutes every day to read. ## References [^davies]: Davies, R. (2018). _OKR, leading and lagging indicators_.
