The Pomodoro method is a type of [[Timeboxing]] technique used to boost productivity. However, unlike other forms of timeboxing, rest or respite from work is a crucial part of the Pomorodo method.
The word _pomodoro_ is _tomato_ in Italian, and is taken from the classic tomato timer used in kitchens. A pomodoro is a single [[Sprint]] of work time. While its duration can vary, the most common form is 25 minutes long.
- The pomodoro method includes breaks:
- 25 minutes: Work
- 5 minutes: Short break
- 25 minutes: Work
- 15 minutes: Long break
