- It can be tempting to tailor our responses to situations "on a case-by-case basis" because it implies having a personal touch. The reality is that such approaches are rarely sustainable, and almost never scalable.
- Instead, what we can do is take a step back and try to come up with a process that is as general as possible, so as to leave room for creative or intuitive reactions, without compromising on the essential elements of the process.
