The misconception that a creative person must create only "for the sake of art", and that accepting money for art somehow makes them impure, is both wrong and harmful. Anyone who does not make a plan to support themselves with their work is naïve to the point of stupidity. There should not be a stigma around soliciting or accepting payment for creative work. Work is work.
