# [[The Creator Journey in 3 Steps]]
Course:: [[Part-Time Creatorpreneur]]
## Summary
> [!abstract] Summary
> There are three stages in the journey of a creatorpreneur, and you can stop at any time.
>
> In Level 1, you're learning how to get going - how to start creating what you want to create and how to get over the fear of beginning. Soon after you get started, though, you have to make a decision about whether you want to keep going.
>
> If you decide to keep going, you're in Level 2: Getting Good. In this level, you learn to hone your craft by increasing the quantity of what you're doing and making 1% improvements in quality each time. After you've gotten "good enough" (as judged by both you and your audience), it's time to make a choice about whether you want to continue with your creative hustle as a hobby or as a business.
>
> If you decide to start thinking of it as a business, then it's time to enter Level 3: Get Smart. And that's what this course is about.

- What this course is about

There are choices between stages 1 and 2 and another between 2 and 3.
Choice 1: How serious are you?
- Break up with your creative hustle
- Casual relationship: I'll make videos whenever I feel like it.
- However, you can't really expect much from this relationship if you're not truly committed.
- Serious relationship
- Then you progress to Get Good, Stage 2
Get Good
- Quantity + 1% improvement increments in quality
- The more of the thing you do, the better you get at doing it. You don't get good by obsessing over one video at a time.
- How do you know when you're good?
- Internal barometer
- The cringe test: Do I cringe when I watch back something I've published?
- External
- YouTube: Comments, likes, retention, etc.
- The object is to get "good enough", not to be the best

Choice 2: Hobby vs business?
- Hobby
- It's about me
- Business
- It's about the audience.
- Me having fun is not the primary objective of having a business.
- If you choose Business, proceed to Level 3.
If you want to treat it like a hobby, this course is not for you.
Level 3: Get Smart
- The starting point for the course.
