NPC "AI" just means a framework for creating an NPC
OGAS:
- Occupation
- Goal
- shelter? survival?
- personal?: I want to get that maiden to notice me
- political?: I want to be king
- Attitude
- world view
- ex: apathetic, sorrowful, brutish
- Stake
- Resistance: how little or how much they're going to go against the previous factors
Then, create conflict or the possibility of conflict by using an opposing OGAS to what the players have.
NPCs shouldn't just volunteer; players need to be nice to them in some way before they give information.
Get into the habit of applying OGAS, and let the OGAS guide you. Let the AI take over.
