My Obsidian setup for TTRPGs (46) 2. obsidian for ttrpg (76) ### Hook After family, my day job, and the passion project that began with this YouTube channel, the next thing I spend the most time on is TTRPGs: Tabletop Roleplaying Games. In 2022 I played in 134 games, 30 of which I was the GM (Game Master) for. That's a big enough hobby to warrant some automation, so here is my Obsidian setup for TTRPGs in 2023. ### Structure - If you're a Patreon, this vault that I'm going to be demonstrating is already available at the link below. - Outside the game - [[Creating World, Session, NPC, and Location notes]] - Banner sample in [[TTRPGs Games Index]] - Leaflet: map - Create one for [[2023-W01 The Vault of Bones]] - TTRPG statblocks - [[stats-5e]] - [[stats-osr]] - [[stats-knave]] - [[stats-numenera-pc]] - Canvas: point crawls, NPC relationships or hierarchies - During the game - Rules and system information - [[01 Ironsworn Rulebook|Ironsworn Rulebook]] - [[Mörk Borg Tables]] and full rulebook - [[Conditions Appendix|Pathfinder 2e Conditions appendix]] - [[Black Hack Rules]] - DM's attic - Creating random tables - Monster, item database - GM tools (GM dashboard) using Dice Roller - Initiative Tracker + custom conditions - All Pathfinder conditions - The One Ring conditions - Cypher System (Numenera) conditions - Templates - [[The One Ring 2e Travel Log]] template. Insert this template when you're on the *Journey Phase*. - [[system/templates/World]] - [[session-gm]] - [[session-player]] - [[TTRPG frontmatter]] - [[npcs in place]] - [[pc]] ### Outro If you listened to all that and you're thinking it's too complex, remember that Obsidian is as complex as you make it. You don't need ANY of these to use Obsidian for TTRPGs-- you can just create a note for every game you play, and then link those notes within a campaign page. Start from there, and IF you feel you need any more than that, then I hope this video gave you a few ideas to run with. If you're on my Patreon, I'll leave a link below where you can download the exact vault I showed you. Thanks for watching. May you roll many nat20s, and may your nat1s be just as fun. :) *Tchüss!* ### Related videos and resources ### Pinned comment ``` This is a long one, so feel free to watch at 2x and use the timestamps to skip around!
