My note processing workflow in Obsidian (100) 2. Watch me process a note in Obsidian (100) 3. How I take notes in Obsidian (76) 4. Learning in Obsidian (100) 5. ==How I learn in Obsidian== (100) 6. ==Keeping up with tech trends== (81) ## Hook There are a lot of methodologies out there, so it's easy to get methodology fatigue. What exactly is a permanent note? How do you know if a note is "atomic enough"? When do you decide a note is "evergreen"? I don't know if it's just because my alignment is chaotic good, but my tendency is to chuck all of that out the window and do my own thing. I've tried many of them, but I've found that doing what I feel like works just as well for me... even if what I feel like changes slightly every time I do it. In this video, I'm going to take you with me as I process some notes around a topic I'm trying to learn. I'll talk you through what I'm thinking, why I'm making the decisions I make, and what plugins I'm using to learn. Let's get started! ## Structure - Context - I'm a Developer Advocate for [[Grafana Labs]], but my experience is in performance engineering, not observability, so I want to improve my knowledge of observability. - I did a hackathon last year related to eBPF, but even then, honestly, that knowledge is still not solidified in my head. So I want to do that today. - Workspace: TVZ, but then also add the keyword `eBPF`. - Readwise, https://readwise.io/nicole - this is where all my article highlights come from - Processing each article - Filling out [[eBPF]] - Updating [[Observability]] and [[Trends in Observability]] - What does eBPF have to do with what I'm interested in? ([[k6 (tool)|k6]], [[Performance Testing]]) - Visual - Fix relationship parameters for Excalibrain - Try to come up with some sort of crude diagram using Excalidraw - Create a single [[Advanced Slides]] slide to explain eBPF Only go for an hour! ## Outro I hope that was a useful look into how I *actually* get stuff done. Sorry it was a bit of a longer video, but I really wanted to give you a more unfiltered look into my practice of learning rather than spouting theory at you. Please don't think that my way is the best or only way to do it - I'm pretty sure that's not true, because my process changes all the time too! Take what works for you and leave the rest. Until next time, thanks for watching!
