## Title
1. How to make presentations in Markdown
2. Obsidian Advanced Slides plugin
3. Presentations as Code
4. ==Presentations as Code // How to use the Obsidian Advanced Slides plugin==
## Hook
In Obsidian, notes are written in a lightweight markup language called Markdown. When it comes right down to it, slide presentations are just like notes. They might have a certain format, but they are text- and image-based, and their purpose is to share knowledge. I often talk about Obsidian in the context of taking notes-- but did you know that you can turn those notes into a presentation with Obsidian as well?
## Intro
Hi, I'm Nicole van der Hoeven, and on this channel, I talk about min/maxing my life, including digital tools like Obsidian. In this particular video, I'm talking about how to create full presentations using the Advanced Slides plugin in Obsidian.
## Structure
- The problem
- Slides should be easy to make and easy to share
- Google Slides tie you to Google - what if you want to host it on your own domain?
- revealjs, Reveal-Hugo theme to publish to my blog, but it was honestly tedious
- What is Advanced Slides?
- Why would you want to be able to make presentations in Markdown instead of using Google Slides or (god forbid) Powerpoint?
- Presentations as code streamlines the process
- Making presentations becomes as easy as taking notes
- Copy and paste between notes
- Easier to publish without people needing to sign into Google or some other service
- Installing and setup (leave as default)
- Features
- Create horizontal slides using `---`
- Live Slide Preview
- Create vertical slides using `--`
- Add images
- Add backgrounds
- Add speakers notes
- Add animation
- More: themes, grids, splits, auto-animate
- View in local browser + speaker notes
- Export presentation as HTML
- Publish to my site
- Slides (core) vs Advanced Slides
- Change up the themes and templates
- Open presentation in browser
- Export presentation as HTML
## Outro
If you'd like to see how this works in action, I just did a presentation at the Linking Your Thinking conference last week, where I talked about processing notes and using them to make cool stuff. Check out the slides, which I created using the Advanced Slides plugin, over there. And if you want a roundup of different plugins available for Obsidian - because there are many - check out this video. Köszönöm!
