Show off merch! - We met in an Obsidian for TTRPGs showcase-- so you definitely knew I took notes when you invited me. What was going through your mind? - I GM a campaign in Exandria and am a Critter. How do you think that's gone, given that I'm playing in *your* world and might know some things that my character shouldn't? - Rollies! - What kind of GM is he? - What kind of player am I? - Guess how many notes I have for our campaign? - 486 notes - 133,784 words (as of [[2023-03-30]]) - 272 words per note-- just about as much as [[Floyd Hemsworth]] - Get it again from [[How to get word count from all files in a directory on terminal]] closer to the date - [[076_20230131 The fireworks begin]] - Why did you *really* choose this session and why was it to troll me? - Where we started: I had just cast *Sleep* unexpectedly. Describe the GM panic that ensued when you thought you had messed up my backstory. - How do you keep track of [[Knife theory|knives]]? Do you have a note for each of us, with juicy secrets? - Things I could show - [[ttrpgs/Temporary White Circle/World|twc]] - `#sending`. Ex: [[Piro]] - Play sending clip :) - Sending as a way to get some information for other PCs. - Weird sendings: - [[Heri Hammerhold]] - [[Cleff Tinkertop]] to ask about [[Daxemalinda Duppelan|Dax]] - Supercharged Links - My questions for Andy - Ways you've changed how you GM because we take notes - When I first joined, you used to do recaps for every game. You don't do that anymore. Why did you stop? - You ask us for our notes sometimes - You didn't used to use Fantasy Calendar, but then I started asking about the date and the moon cycles... In [[019_20210921 The tiefling and Crownsguard Douche#^173ffb]], you started using it. - There are sort of 4/6 people in our game, including you, taking notes. - Are there things where it's easier for you when we take notes? - Are there some things where it makes it harder for you when we take notes? - How do you think me taking notes affects the way I play? - How do you feel about me taking so many notes in the game? - How do you think it would change the game for you if all of us players took notes like I did? - Do you think that if *you* were a player in a long-term campaign, you'd take more notes than you can as a GM? - Do you take notes on us as *people*, or just our characters? - How has my taking notes on lore changed how you plan the story? - ==Do you ever throw something out there without knowing why it's there or who's behind it, listen to us conjecture about what's happening, and then make us right (or subvert our expectations)?== - I wish the others took more notes - [[ttrpgs/Temporary White Circle/The Gentleman|The Gentleman]] - Scura doesn't have any magic items. - Our inventory! - Safety Tools - What's the difference between a wiki and a PKM system? Why do you keep your D&D notes separate? - [!] Remember to give him crap about pronouncing [[ttrpgs/Temporary White Circle/Ioun|Ioun]] > [!example]- Andy's original pitch > I've had one player drop out of my Tuesday night 8-11pm GMT+1 (Germany) Wildemount game and I'd ideally like to find another female player to keep the gender balance intact. > > We're currently on 1 female and 3 male players who play 2 male PCs (Paladin and Wizard) and 2 female PCs (Sorcerer and Rogue). The dropped PC was a female Cleric, so the party really needs a healer. > > We're an older group, so this would suit someone in their late 20s upwards (I'm 50). We're very relaxed, don't get too serious about RAW and min-maxing or perfect RP. The game is a fairly even mix of RP, Exploration & Combat. We're about 16 sessions in and the party just hit Level 4, which is where your PC would come in at. Currently in Hupperdook having completed Dangerous Designs after some previous minor adventures and travel. > > DM if interested, even if you don't entirely fit the criteria above. > [!example]- Original Reddit post > Ground rules > 1. No assholes. I've really go no patience or time for it. > > 2. Zero tolerance for bigotry, racism, sexism, harassment and making anyone feel uncomfortable for who they are or for how they want to role play, but that doesn't include evil-aligned "my character would do that" nonsense. See Rule 1. > > 3. Take playing seriously, but don't take the game too seriously. Rules are there to help structure gameplay, not to be gamed in and of themselves. > > 4. We'll have a session zero to be clear on what everyone is comfortable with and I will ensure regular stars and wishes feedback gathering. ## Pinned comment ``` Andy and I have been playing D&D 5e (him as the GM, me as the player) for about two years.
