I redo the rest in the second part. > The second part is `C0001.MP4` (A-roll) and `2024-01-07 14-52-29.mp4` (B-roll). Laster year, I made 124 videos on YouTube across five channels. Most of those were livestreams. 35 of them were pre-edited. Either way, that's a lot... and if I didn't have a system to keep track of it all, I wouldn't be able to do it. In this video, I'm taking you through my process of making videos in Obsidian and I'll show you how you can set something similar up for yourself. %% - NVDH: 29 + 5 lives - GL: 34 - k6: 18 - A&A: 25 = 122 videos not including shorts (35 pre-edited) %% ### Structure - We'll be switching back and forth between Patreon and my personal vault - We're going to start with the most essential stuff and then you can stop there, or continue to add to the process as you see fit. - Research and idea generation - Templater for video templates - [[NVDH Video]] - [[goh]] - [[live A&A]] - Creating thumbnails with Canva - TubeBuddy for researching keywords - Filming - Post-production - Editing - uploading to frame.io - Rev.com for captions - Kanban - Each video has lots of different steps, and I have to track it somehow. Previously, I've tried to do this using a few plugins: Tasks, Projects, Database Folder. But I keep coming back to Kanban. If you haven't heard of Kanban, it's a work methodology developed by Toyota for looking at work as something that moves through the assembly line. Having predesignated "stops", represented by columns, along the way helps define a process and makes the end product more consistent. (Here's what mine looks like.) - Create a Kanban board on Patreon vault - ([[My workflow for making videos with Obsidian#Skillshare sponsorship]]) - Fantasy Calendar - [[Video database]] - Add to other notes - Shoutout to Zsolt Viczián, who's creating a video mind map in Excalidraw to do the same thing: https://pkm.social/@zsviczian/111686137824406402 ### Skillshare sponsorship This process for creating videos is one that I've changed only slightly in the last year, but it wasn't always that way. The sponsor of this video is Skillshare. I have pretty strict requirements for sponsorships, and you can check it out in my [Ethics statement here](https://nicolevanderhoeven.com/ethics/). But I've been using Skillshare for two years out of my own pocket, so I happily said yes when they asked. ![[skillshare-payment-screenshot.png]] I did actually mention them for free in a video last year too. ([[How I study using Obsidian]]) I took a lot of classes to learn how to make videos on YouTube, but I actually took my first course on it on Skillshare two years ago. The way Skillshare works is that you pay them a monthly subscription, and then you can take whatever classes you want. It's like Netflix for your brain, and I'm on it a lot more than I'm on Netflix these days. Skillshare has everything you need to go from passion to paycheck or seed your side hustle! Whether you want to build a subscriber base for your email newsletter, use AI tools to increase your productivity or open your first Etsy shop, Skillshare can help you get there. The video course I did was Ali Abdaal's course on Growing Your First YouTube Channel. I think it was way less than this when I took it, but this is even better. I went on to take his Part-Time YouTuber Academy, and while that's more in depth, it was also like 1300 EUR. This is a good way to get started. Skillshare classes are led by industry pros who have walked the walk & an active community of members ready to cheer you on! - MKBHD - Ali Abdaal - Sorelle Amore - Curtis Hale has a course there on Obsidian - Thomas Frank: Mastering Productivity The first 500 people to use my link will get a 1 month free trial of Skillshare. Thanks, Skillshare! #### Addendum Learning Paths are hand-picked classes meant to be taken in order, that build on one another, reinforcing lessons. They are available in a range of experience levels from beginner to advanced and a variety of categories including design, productivity, creative freelancing, tools and software like Procreate and Blender, marketing, and more. ### Outro That's how I'm planning videos in Obsidian, but that's not necessarily how you should. I've been making videos on YouTube for a few years, and this is just the system I've landed on. Like with anything I do, take what's useful and chuck the rest. Thanks for watching! *Manigong Bagong Taon!
