### Hook
We've talked a lot about different features of Obsidian, but it's totally normal if you're still unsure how to use it. In this section, I'll go through a few common workflows so that you know how to put together some of the plugins and features we've covered to make them work for you.
### Structure
#### Common workflows in Obsidian

- Restructuring vault
- Remember, when renaming or moving, do it in Obsidian
- Creating an index for course topics. (Map of Content)
- I created the index first to show you that there can still be organization without using folders. There are benefits to using links as the main way you organize your notes:
- You can use a link to a note in more than one place, but you can only put the file in a single folder.
- Folders still get unwieldy to manage when you have enough notes. If you have too many links on a page, then that just means you can break it up into multiple sections.
- Links are the foundation of Obsidian, and linking notes forces you to think about where they fit in the context of your vault.
- When you restructure things (and you'll definitely have to at some point), it's easier to change links than move folders.
- However, if you must use folders, go for it.
- Create folder-based hierarchy for course topics.
