# [[OC06 Common workflows in Obsidian]] ## Pre-production ### Thumbnail ### Title 1. ### Hook We've talked a lot about different features of Obsidian, but it's totally normal if you're still unsure how to use it. In this section, I'll go through a few common workflows so that you know how to put together some of the plugins and features we've covered to make them work for you. ### Structure #### Common workflows in Obsidian - [x] Setting goals - Creating templates - [ ] Daily Note template - [ ] Weekly template - [ ] Monthly template - [ ] Yearly template - Restructuring vault - Remember, when renaming or moving, do it in Obsidian - Creating an index for course topics. (Map of Content) - I created the index first to show you that there can still be organization without using folders. There are benefits to using links as the main way you organize your notes: - You can use a link to a note in more than one place, but you can only put the file in a single folder. - Folders still get unwieldy to manage when you have enough notes. If you have too many links on a page, then that just means you can break it up into multiple sections. - Links are the foundation of Obsidian, and linking notes forces you to think about where they fit in the context of your vault. - When you restructure things (and you'll definitely have to at some point), it's easier to change links than move folders. - However, if you must use folders, go for it. - Create folder-based hierarchy for course topics. - Obsidian for Everyone Course Materials - Sample Notes #### (If I have time) - Researching a topic - Embedded search - Callouts - Canvas - Embedding sections and blocks - Using Graph view to examine connections - Using Slides to create a presentation ### Outro ### Related videos and resources ## Post-production - [ ] Upload video to Eve. - [ ] Review video. - [ ] Create thumbnail on Canva. - [ ] Upload video to Podia. - [ ] Upload video to Rev. - [ ] Download `.srt` and `.txt` captions from Rev. - [ ] Change the title on Podia. - [ ] Upload thumbnail to Podia. - [ ] Upload `.srt` files to Podia. - [ ] Add captions to Obsidian Publish and refine them into instructions. - [ ] Send instructions to Laila. - [ ] Add video description. - [ ] Summary of what's in the video. - [ ] Links to resources that might help. - [ ] Links to the Obsidian Publish vault where each bit of information is held. - [ ] Upload sample vaults for each section on Podia. - [ ] Publish to Obsidian Publish.
