### Structure
- Best practice tips (+ Advanced Slides)
- Create a default template for a note and put a hotkey on it. Some suggestions as to what to have in it:
- date (in comments or in text, so that the link is recognized)
- daily notes as the chronological "anchor" for your vault and single source of truth.
- having a heading instead of relying on the filename, so that when you publish your notes (if you do), you'll have a heading.
- Maybe disable filenames from settings
- heading as a link `[[Like this]]` so it changes when you change the filename
- aliases
- Don't follow any one methodology strictly.
- Instead of trying to get things right the first time, practice how to:
- Use search to find notes you didn't tag/name correctly.
- Rename files and folders in Obsidian, but if you forget, just rename them back to what they were in Finder/File Explorer.
- Search and replace using text editors.
- Use as few vaults as possible to encourage connections between disparate ideas to develop.
- Never create a file that's not linked to anything.
- Link to other notes from that note.
- Add a link TO the note you're creating FROM other notes.
- Regularly review your notes to spark serendipity and to update them.
- Random note
- Be curious about your vault-- follow the links and think about whether they should be restructured.
- Working with the garage door up/learning in public
- Make it yours. Watch how others use Obsidian, but ultimately, be ready to throw all that out the window and do whatever works for you. Make them messy, make them loud, make them neat-- but remember to make them fun.
- Thank you so much for going through this course. Don't forget to check out the resources I've linked to below for further learning. If you'd like to give me some feedback, feel free to do so in a comment below, or find me on the Discord server (also linked below). Happy note-taking!
