During the game, players use their phones to send text messages to each other as they unearth clues about what happened to Alice. > > The game runs over a single session of two to three hours. There is no formal game master, but one player will need to explain and facilitate the rules. In the first 45 minutes, players create their characters, their relationships to Alice, and their ties with each other. She was well liked. Not super popular, but was dependable. She was like the connector. - Interested in a good mystery. - Was a part of the student newspaper. - Back with her dad for the winter break. - Relationships - ### Julia North - *The Secret Girlfriend* (Marco) *she/her* - *When did Julia and Alice first meet?* - They were both latchkey kids. - They weren't really raised by parents. They met in pre- and after-school daycare. - They always hung out after school for an hour or two. - THey met in Church youth group at St. Cecilia's down the road. - They just always understood each other. - Relationships - Feels protective of Evan - Thinks she cares more about Alice than I do. ### Evan Holwell - *The One With The Crush* *he/him* - Everyone but Alice knows Evan has a crush on her. She's kind of been stringing him along. - He's been trying to do damage control on her behalf. There's a rumour going around that her grandfather is upset because she stole something from him. They're not happy about it. They're looking for her. - What did she steal? - Evan was trying to stick up for her. - Relationships - Evan and Charlie *used to be friends*. - I know a secret about Evan that he doesn't want shared. - *Alice gave him money. I think she stole it from her family and gave it to him. She said it wasn't her secret to tell why Evan needed that money.* ## Locations ### Silent Falls Train Station - It used to be a military outpost and now it's a train station. The owners are German. - There's a fork in the north off the tracks. One leads northwest and one leaves north east. The north eastern one is barricaded and they don't know where that leads. - She's been going there in the mornings before school and coming to school straight from there, every Monday. ### The Lighthouse at the Howling Sea Cliffs - steeped in a lot of urban legends. - building is a Masonic lodge and people travel there for meetings. - History of suicide and violence in the lighthouse. - Could be haunted? - Alice's grandfather is known to go to the lighthouse. He is a Freemason. ### Kalisto Rivers State Park - Every Wednesday at 4 pm for the last month she's been going there. - She's not a nature person - Older kids go there to do drugs and booze. That's where the burnouts hang out. - Don't know what Alice is doing there. ### The Dripping Dagger Nightclub - It's changed locations five times. - There was a fire and everyone knows it was on purpose. - Nobody really eats there. It's a hole in the wall. - Nobody knows how it stays in business. It was a Mexican place for a year and a half. Nobody knows who the owner is. - Alice knew someone that worked there, which is really suspicious. ### The Old Barn on Cambridge Street - Where people go to have sex. - It's abandoned. Legally owned but the son of the original owner doesn't live in Silent Falls. - The barn from Footloose. - Fights have broken out at this barn. - Alice had a story to track down at the Barn for the last year, since Charlie's moved away. ## Suspects Fill in details as desired. ### Ryan Groggins - *The Ex-Boyfriend* - Alice's ex-boyfriend - Ryan is one of those guys who just wanted to collect Alice and treated her like a trophy. - Alice dumped him. He never got over it. You don't *dump* The Grog. He dumps you. ### Mr. Halvert - *The History Teacher* - Alice got a bad grade on a history exam that was worth 35% of her grade and it would hurt her chances to go to Stanford. - According to rumours, it was not deserved. Alice was furious and she was arguing with him after school several times. It started to get heated. - Alice said she'd take it to the board, and he said "You'll regret that." ### David Nelson - *The Popular Kid* - He has a very bad drinking problem and everyone knows it. - He secretly has vodka every day in an orange juice bottle. - Is a second cousin on the mother's side of Alice. He's related to her. - She threatened to tell his mom that he has a drinking problem. ### Bria Brown - *The Bully* - Bria is an athlete and a bully. - I found a note to Alice from Bria, and it said *I know what you did.* - ### CJ Wallace - *The Creeper* - CJ is a newcomer to Silent Falls. - He's just really creepy. Nobody's ever seen him eat or drink. He's always smoking cigarettes. - He's always lurking around school, and often around Alice. Police have asked him what he's doing, but they haven't really been able to catch him doing anything wrong.
