# [[001_20230314 Chaos familiars]] ## Session Summary > [!tldr] [[001_20230314 Chaos familiars]] > June the toad, Moxie the cat (me), and Peck the crow stood in front of the body of their beloved witch, Nancy Sparrowfoot, and swore an oath of revenge on the witch-hunter that did this terrible deed. We went into the nearest town and immediately ran into weird cultists who seemed to be in the midst of some sort of ritual. We left those people and followed some happy-looking gnomes instead, who were singing and dancing in an un-culty way. Unfortunately for us, it turned out that they were celebrating Nancy's death and the "triumph" of the witch-hunter, Kerrigan. The nerve! > > In an act of bravery, Peck swooped into the inn and pecked the eye of the famed Kerrigan as he was making his entrance, and succeeded in popping an eyeball out, which I was able to take in my mouth. June set fire to poor Kerrigan while Peck snatched his other eye out of its socket-- only to have it picked up by a bartender. > > Suddenly, some cloaked figures burst in, including the town marshal. I convinced him that the bartender had done it, which resulted in the bartender being arrested. We followed closely and watched as one of his guards took the eyeball and brought it to a dark alleyway. It turned out he was in some sort of occult pyramid scheme and he wanted to turn in the eyeball as an asset to "the ledger". > > Peck conjured dinner as a distraction. June climbed up onto the altar to try to get the eyeball, but got pinned to it instead. She tried to set fire to the place and succeeded, but managed to roast herself in the process. I swallowed the eyeball I was carrying in my mouth, and attacked the guard in an attempt to get the eyeball, but instead got gutted... but not before I coughed up the eyeball like a gross furball. Peck, with a broken wing, was unable to fly, and despite briefly getting his claws on both eyeballs, plummetted to the earth, along with our hopes of ever raising or avenging our beloved witch. > > THE END. ^summary ![[chaos-familiars.png]] %% ## Video <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/250Z0y2MoKg" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe> 00:00:00 Intro 00:01:42 Rules and setup 00:13:17 Start of the game 00:25:53 We get to town 00:34:33 We follow a gaggle of gnomes 00:52:33 Kerrigan the witch-hunter arrives 01:01:48 The marshal arives 01:14:10 We follow the arrested bartender to the tents 01:20:35 The guard is in an occult pyramid scheme 01:41:14 June conjures flame and roasts herself 01:46:33 Moxie gets gutted 01:55:51 Peck tries to fly with one wing and falls 01:57:37 The witch is still dead %% ## Log ![[moxie.excalidraw.dark.png]] %%[[moxie.excalidraw|🖋 Edit in Excalidraw]], and the [[moxie.excalidraw.light.png|light exported image]]%% Lulu: Juniper (June) the toad - makes flame Me: Moxie the cat - speaks human Murathan: Peck the crow - conjure dinner Baba Yaga's hut Nancy Sparrowfoot is the name of the witch We're in a swamp One hour head start. Moxie: black with a white streak like a skunk Nancy has two little mice-flavoured cat treats. I sniff Nancy and smell sage. There's a tent structure in the middle of the town. We follow the witch hunter into the town. Some of them carry flails, and they're flailing each other or the villagers. Chanting or singing - they're moving clockwise and counter-clockwise. I see two guards, but as soon as I start speaking and telling them I belong to Nancy, they cross themselves and don't want to have anything to do with magic. Jerry goes away to get "the marshall" and I run away into the town. We see a mob of gnomes that are singing and dancing, unlike the cultists. Kind of like in New Orleans. Older male who's leading them. I go on with them and they go into the inn. Jeremiah is the name of the leader. In the inn. Innkeeper's wife if she sees me will hit me with a broom. I hide super well like a chameleon cat. I hear that the witch is dead. They can't wait for their hero to come down. The witch hunter's name is Kerrigan. They're celebrating her death. kerrigan said he was tired and went upstairs. Just as we try to sneak upstairs, a booming voice comes down from upstairs. Peck goes right for his eye, the eyeball pops off, and I go running after it, carrying the one eye carefully in my mouth. Peck flies out. June sets his clothes on fire and the bartender throws water on him to put out the fire. June fails to get the other eye. Bartender's administering aid. Peck flies in and pecks the other eye out!! The tavern door opens and four cloaked figures burst in. One of them has a cat-'o-nine-tails that has like twelve tails. It's the marshal! I convince the marshal that it was the bartender who did it, but then he gets arrested! June follows the guards who take the bartender to the central tent in the town, followed by me, followed by Peck. One of the guards gets the eyeball from the bartender, and we follow him to a dark alleyway. Moonlight shines down on an altar made of junk wood, same symbols scrawled on tent are scrawled on the altar. The guard sets the eyeball on a chalice. They like to make flesh offerings. We have stumbled across an occult eyeball MLM/pyramid scheme. Older gentleman comes: "Yes? You have something for the ledger?" The guy tries to claim the eyeball. Peck *conjures dinner* and causes drumsticks and lemonade splash into the sacred chalice. June climbs up the altar and gets grabbed and pinned to the table! I go for the man's giblets and strike tender flesh. he drops the eyeball and I try to go for it,b ut he grabs me instead! June tries to produce flame to set the tent on fire. She roasts herself instead! Just before I'm killed, I cough up an eyeball for Peck. He grabs it, but fails to grab the other eyeball. I get mercilessly slashed and killed. Peck tries to grab the other eyeball again and finally succeeds, but he can't fly! He hops out of the now burning building and stubbornly decides to try with his one wing... and fails. He gets some height, but plummets to the floor, and both eyeballs go rolling, nowhere to be found. The witch is dead. And so are we!
