There's a drive to its dagger that is focused on me. It wants to kill me, but I've taken ownership of it. There's some sort of malice and triumph to it and I can't escape from it. I see myself on a bridge in a vast dark cavern. The only light is coming from people behind me on a bridge. It's a very narrow bridge. Stone bridge. I'm holding the dagger and I'm walking forward. It's like a physical compulsion. The dagger wants me to stab myself and it's hard to resist. And I don't know if I can hold out. Celine knows someone's following us-- someone shady. Not the [[The Periphery|OUP]]. We mess up [[Seraphine Noir]] 's map of stuff. Edward and Leopold go drive to the safehouse to get the Box and lose the tail. The girls go through this tunnel Seraphine told us go to the sewers. Only Edward sees this: Leopold puts eyedrops in his eye. The eyedrop liquid changes colours. His pupils change colours. He gets a vision: He's on a chair in the Scarlet Auction. He sees people wearing gloves. He doesn't see Sadie or [[Thomas Cavendish]]. He has a book open on his lap. It is a copied book of research from Candela Obscura with some of its knowledge. He sees pages open to a poem of some sort. This is a poem that "she" knows by heart. She doesn't need to know it. She memorises it. Leopold remembers travelling on an expanse of mud and rock with ocean on either side. Then he's on a cavern full of statues of birds. It's called Cavern of Frozen Wings. It's extremely dangerous and he can't stay long. - Next image: Anthropomorphised bird. Human body, giant wings. They stayed too long and died of Bleed. Madam Fidovich (or Leopold, now) was wiser and didn't stay too long. The reason he came here was to see it for himself and see if there was any other sign that it was for him. The bird said that poem, then the head turned towards him. And that was the final piece of the crazy plan that he needed to do. Then the Box of Suffering is the next item that's introduced in the auction. He steels himself, and then raises his hand. Leopold shoots at the car that's following them. He gets a tire. Someone gets out with a gun, and he tries to hit them, but he misses. Leopold knows who the guy is, but the guy also knows who Leopold is... Leopold tips his hat. It's a member of [[The Red Hand]]. Sadie said her husband might be having her followed. The boys get back to the safehouse to find that the Box of Suffering has been taken and the entire place ransacked. They know that [[The Red Hand]] have the thing. Edward's Safehouse is burned. It was in the Varnish. Now we're in the second one which is in [[The Sidle]]. Circle advancement. Looking for where to go: - There's a subway stop within the circle and it's underground. - There's a construction site. We decide to go to the subway stop. - There's a worker that's on a cigarette break. That's not allowed, especially not in the tunnel. - Sadie tries to Sense for Bleed. The more trains come, the more disoriented she gets. Sadie does a *Cold Read* on Edward. She sees two quick movements: one of a small boy falling into a pit of darkness. Then another of a house with bodies out front. A mother and a father. They've been shot. There's a high-pitched scream from Edward that takes over that vision. We see two [[The Periphery|Periphery]] officers. We go towards the crack in the wall that Sadie pointed out.
