No trace of gold. Whatever happened, everything is now lead. We're looking at a preserved piece of history. Further along, ceiling is gone. We get to the bottom, thanks to Edward. - We see a maze of rubble and ruins. - Edward finds a way, buried in bluestone. But it's currently blocked. Sketch of bird Sense the steps of death. - Sadie senses Bleed just before Edward steps onto a step and stops him - It's about 100 steps. - Sadie sees a beautiful coloured pattern against the lead dome. - This is a bit of a transcendent experience for Sadie. “One alone must remember a beloved ghost of five to open this passage for all.” - We keep going down until we get to a rounded room. - pentagram room - The only way for him to get memories is by getting a DNA sample from someone and then his Doctor friend to put it through some process to give him eyedrops. - There's a chair in the middle of the room. - All five stone walls are blank - In front of one of the walls, there's a circle. When someone steps into that circle, Sadie sees the reflection of that person on the wall. - Leopold sits in the chair, and one of us is in each of the "dimples". - Edward tells Leopold that he lost his brother of five. He fell into a well and Edward couldn't save him. He got home and his parents were gone too. His parents got taken from them too. - Celine lost a brother too, but she killed him. They told her it was an accident. She was 8, and then she shapeshifted and she turned into her twin brother. She didn't know it was dangerous and they thought it was so much fun. Then her mother started looking scared. Celine let it go and the Bleed exploded out into a wave. He burned away. Since then, she's learned to contain the Bleed within herself, but neither she nor her family has ever been the same. - Lily: Single mother of her and her sister Olive. Mother jumped off a cliff in depression - someone incredibly rational and she just did something completely irrational. That's why I was at the auction looking for the Mitre of Air-- something that can make someone fly. But I was also unsure if I wanted it to work, because it would mean that everything I've worked for is insufficient, and science doesn't really explain the world. And it certainly doesn't explain emotions. - Sadie: 4th year. Professor. One rule in the class: don't directly touch artifacts. Jack picked up an old Oldfairen knife and it cut him. As he bled, he changed. He wasn't Jack anymore. He grew claws. He killed a professor and three other students. There was so much blood. They told Sadie that she blacked out. They said he was contained, shot and killed. The university gave her her degree. She was in the hospital for weeks and she doesn't remember what happened, except for the blood. - Leopold: Black tear comes out of the corner of his eye. He sees the ghost of a woman. "Persephone." He was walking with her by the canal and she was taken from him. The violence, her final moments. He tried to find who was guilty and he never could. She's a redheaded woman who looks frightened and dismayed at him. Memories of stalking her and following her. - Leopold's chair starts to sink.
