# [[002_20230129]] ![[dob-002.png]] ## Session Summary > [!tldr] [[002_20230129]] > We all found ourselves in a globe somehow balanced at the top of an obsidian pyramid, a place where we've all been gathered to perform our shin obligations. At the start of it, we were asked to show some things about our abilities, and Venus totally flubbed it. Squee did so well that he became one of the favourites. Jackie initially got caught trying to figure out who among the judges was worth impressing, and nearly got walked away and put in prison, but she saved the day by soothing Squee and performing a fun magic trick. > > We were all taken to a place where they had us all line up. Afraid we were going to be separated, I used a teleporter to bamf into the room Squee had walked into, and Jackie pretended to tie her shoelaces so that she was sent to the same room. In the room were five leaders, two of whom were arguing with each other about who would get Squee. Jackie and I were placed together, but Squee was sent to someone else. Squee dug his heels in and refused to cooperate, until he was finally placed with us. > > The story of us as a trio begins next week! ^summary --- ## Recap ![[001_20230119 How to Numa-numa#^summary]] --- ## Log We are all going through a [[Shin Obligation]]. Why? We'll find out for each of us... We have a [[Obsidian Pyramid|huge pyramid of obsidian]], and on top of it is a globe. We feel the obligation to go up to it from the shin obligation. It's almost a religious thing. We find outselves in the middle of the core of the globe, a humongous floor with lots of people who are all under the shin obligation too. - There's a gangway all around the globe - There's ranggani (?) on the floor with chalk-like markings, intricately patterned. There are sages at cardinal and sub-cardinal points. - We hear humming, reverberation of crystal glass. Different frequencies and sometimes we can't even hear it. - Drit? - What has been processed from aeons, distilled. Each sage is in charge of a colour and comb air to place drift into a pattern. - We see all of this from the transparent floor underneath. - Different stations. We're assigned them, and we meet into one station. - There are lots of materials in here. We're supposed to impress and will be assigned whether we're primary, secondary, tertiary. I'm first! I wound myself and then attempt to heal myself, but I fail my check-- the plants that I'm using refuse to help. :( [[Squeeee]] - Yulk: Clawed mace - Hammer ![[dob-jackie.png]] ![[dob-jackie-token.png]] [[Jackie]] - She has one implant at the back of her head, two more on her head (foreheads). - She tries to get an effect, but she totally fails. An Aeon Priest sees her trying to cheat and starts to escort her out. Back to Squee - Smashes the rosequartz synth atlas stone, which apparently was one of the hardest substances. Jackie does the lullaby thing with Squee and calms him down (even though Squee actually was fine). Now it's her turn. The Aeon priest comes back and is watching her since she's now in the arena. She does a magic trick to pull a shin out of Squee's ear and nails it! Other people go after us, being assessed as well. The work underneath us has stopped and someone is sweeping everything away. It's very ritual-like, as if it's happened every day. We don't know what it is, but it seems important. ![[dob-002-02.png]] People are being assigned into sub-categories. We're going to be split up! I use my *Teleporter* cypher to get into C after Jackie tells me that's where she's going. Jackie manages to tie her shoes and time it just right so that she ends up in C too. We see different people who are leaders - stern, studious person - someone swirling with matter and energy - someone big, looking for a fight. - colourful harlequinn patterned We see someone who has harlequinn patterns on their clothes, gingham. It's unbuttoned further down than is normally decent. They're arguing over Squee-- there are five of them whom we could be assigned to. Harlequinn and Bruiser are arguing about who gets him. [[Divine Nex]], an aero sultant - Ruby Rod from Fifth Element - ![[dob-divine-nex.png]] - (acrobat philosopher) - snake oil salesman - seems to be ok with me teleporting in. A Slack-jawed brute has been assigned with me and Jackie. Squee is going to the Bruiser. Squee just stops and doesn't let them move him. The people look at Divine Nex, who says *"Oh this is not my problem. My name is Paul, and this problem is with y'all!"* Squee gets them to reconsider. Someone who seems like they're the most important of the group leans down to Squee. Their eyes flit back and forth between colours. They speak *Squee* too! It's like they spoke for a month with Squee. Afterwards, they go away and talk to the others.
