## Log
- The Patriarch has eight embedded gems on their hands.
- Divine has three gems, in addition to a rosegranite sort of pick.
- The first three that they have are the same.
- Jackie identifies two of them:
- fluorite (at the molecular level, it is stronger than diamond. Called *everlast* because it's hard to make but once it's made, it's not going anywhere.)
- radium is the second one. It glows a pale blue.
- Third is dusty, but it's not.
- Fourth: Looks like things are crawling all over it.
- Fifth (thumb): Can barely see a stone. Looks like there's almost an ocular distortion or it's transparent. We can see right through it.
- Sixth: thumb. Gem, but mechanised. Gears going through it.
- Seventh: Foamy and spongey, but it's a gem.
- Eighth: Liquid, but it's not.
- Other leaders have the same three gems that [[Divine Nex]] does.
- There's a lot of numenera here.
We follow Divine into a long, white, featureless corridor. We don't see any doors. We know that we're in a globe that is on the top 1/3rd of an Obsidian pyramid and it's rotating slowly.
Divine is a he.
He stops somewhere, an outline of a door. He tells us we have five minutes to grab three cyphers! (but we can only use three)
Subdual field
- SUBDUAL FIELD
Level: 1d6 + 3
Usable: Complex device
Effect: Two rounds after being activated, the device creates an invisible field that fills a specified area (such as a cube of a certain size) within long range of the device. The field lasts for one minute. It affects the minds of thinking beings within the field, preventing them from taking hostile actions. The effect lasts as long as they remain in the field and for 1d6 rounds after, although an Intellect defense roll is allowed each round to act normally (both in the field and after leaving it).
Instant servant
- INSTANT SERVANT
- Level: 1d6
- Usable: Handheld device
- Effect: Small device expands into a humanoid automaton that is roughly 2 feet (60 cm) tall. Its level is equal to the cypher level and it can understand the verbal commands of the character who activates it. Once the servant is activated, commanding it is not an action. It can make attacks or perform actions as ordered to the best of its abilities, but it cannot speak.
The automaton has short-range movement but never goes farther than long range away from the character who activated it. At the GM’s discretion, the servant might have specialized knowledge, such as how to operate a particular device. Otherwise, it has no special knowledge. In any case, the servant is not artificially intelligent or capable of initiating action. It does only as commanded.
The servant operates for one hour per cypher level.
We are escorted by Divine from the globe/pyramid and through a city of people, talking to us about our backgrounds the whole time.
Why is Jackie here?
- Spent most of her days on the playground
- Had a family, parents, left home, sought adventure
- Why did she take on the shin obligation?
- Yes
Divine Nex
- Raised by 12 parents!
- The Fulcrum is an organization that Divine works for.
-
I'm floating 11 feet for 90 hours. 3.75 days.
Divine has a *Squee for Dummies* book and pulls out a coin-- the same coin that Jackie took from Squee. Divine just increased Squee's skill and taught him a new word: LIE.
The landscape changes: it's slanty and slippery. Weirdly smooth and metallic sounding.
There's a natural depression a few miles out that is a few miles across. In the middle is a pool and some vegetation. Small game. Some sort of oasis. By the pool is a humanoid figure that scurries into some sort of vertical circle, like a portal-- and we can no longer see them.
Squee learns these words: SIMMER DOWN NOW, VENUS, FOCUS.
We speak a language called Axiom.
Squee activates the density nodule to his club so that he'll do more damage later.
We get closer to the depression and we see a large door that's closed over the portal.
(The pyramid was called Seat of the Fulcrum/Fulcrum Seat.)
The depression is about 20 feet below us.
There's something written on the door (in a language called Flarg). *The USS Nebula stardate. This way to the bathroom.*
Squee uses his Timeturner, but instead of going backwards, it goes forwards! We jump into the future and see lots of different possibilities of us messing with it, and Divine Nex is just standing still and watching us amusedly and occasionally shaking their head. At some point we try to leave in different ways but we all try to blink back.
Jackie sees that the door is a portal to a place. It's not an opening to some other planet, but it's just some sort of an extradimensional place.
There's a spatial bubble in this place that is keeping us there.
Jackie and Squee start to hammer at the door by the portal, and someone else answers and asks them to stop.
We feel a mental static.
Jackie manages to convince a bird-like creature with claws come out of the door, and the mental static is hurting. When they actively speak, it hurts us. When they're not speaking, it's more of a dull effect.
They take us in and start drawing symbols. They draw the three of us, the bubble, and an X where we would go for the exit. This is an abhuman. There are three young abhumans here too. They want to help but they want us to give them something. Their name is Arden. There's also a female abhuman (spouse of Arden).
I use the Telepathy implant to talk to them. They want us to give them powerful magic and they'll tell us how to leave. We're told to wait, they do something, and then they tell us we can leave now.
Squee wants to go into the door!
Jackie rolls a nat 1 when trying to talk him down.
"Swing away, Squee."
