# [[002_20221005 All dwarves know each other]] ![[tor-hall-of-dwarves.png]] ## Session Summary > [!tldr] [[002_20221005 All dwarves know each other]] > Our new friend, Erandor, said that there are four men on horseback who seem to have been looking for us. He camped with us that night, but was gone in the morning. > > Tonlir guided us towards The Blue Mountains. Unfortunately, one night, my friend Minty fell asleep while keeping watch, and we were surprised by five hungry wolves who had been stalking us from the night before. We defeated them, but not without some injury. > > When we arrived at Nogrod, we were asked what our business was. Just as we were answering, Bill Ferny and his men arrived and claimed that *we* were assassins who had killed Cormy the hobbit! I tried to convince the Chamberlain otherwise, but it wasn't until our own dwarf Tonlin spoke up that they believed us and let us see the king. We sang him a song, impressed him with our knowledge, awed him with the tales of our travels and the deeds of Balin, and finally persuaded him to hear us out and accept the dwarven maps. ^summary --- ## Recap ![[001_20220928 Fellowship of Loamy Heather#^summary]] --- ## Log Corrections: - [[Bill Ferny]] was already with us; he wasn't with the four men on horseback. - [[Tonlir Son of Korgar]] did not get wounded. [[Erandor from the North]] says the four men on horseback are patrolling the area further south. He makes camp with us that night, but the next morning, he's gone. More travel! - Tonlir fails on Travel. I get extraordinary successes. - Minty (explorer) finds us a good camping ground for the night. We see some shadows that are dark and dog-like - Next day, Tonlir fails on Travel. We're certain the dog-like shadows are wolves, and they're following us. They're not coming out in the daylight. - Minty starts dozing off during his watch, and before he can warn us, the wolves attack! We have 5 fellowship points. We got into a fight with five wolves but we won! We spent 4 out of 5 fellowship points. Tonlir knows that [[The Blue Mountains]] were mostly abandoned. Some dwarves remained. They are really out of touch with the other dwarven kingdoms. It's unusual for a caravan to be here. Today's roll: an Explore check (Minty). He succeeds! It's a beautiful day and there are statues with heather circlets. Travel roll: We hear the hooves of horses, but Tonlir's extraordinary success allows us to evade them! We make it to Tumunzahar. That's [[Halls of Nogrod]]. We are greeted by a contingent of dwarves. Apparently we arrived before the gates closed. Bill Ferny and co arrive at the same time! He tells the Chamberlain that WE are the assassins and that we killed [[MacCormick Cormy Thistlebutton|Cormy]]. I totally fail in my Courtesy check to try to talk our way into an audience with the King. Tonlir knows that there were underground roads/tunnels that were forgotten. Nobody believes in them. [[Ancient Dwarven Maps of the First Age|The parcel]] contains maps that prove that the roads exist. In the hands of the dwarves, the maps are a great find. Tonlir threatens to take a dump on the maps if we aren't allowed to give the king the maps. Maybe this is a dwarf thing, because everyone believes him! Great success! We are granted an audience with the [[King of the Firebeards]]. Skill check! We need to get 6 successes. - [x] Tonlir: Awe - [ ] Brand: - Brings out a book called "Codex of the Dunedain" - [x] Me: Song - [x] Minty: Riddle - Tells about Balin - [x] Minty: Persuade - Helped by me and Brand - Extraordinary success!!
