Zeph pondered maybe using the skeleton of Jack Skellington to help us (which was rumoured to be a creature of great power that would either destroy our enemies or destroy us), but eventually we just decided to turn around and fire cannons at Whiteboard's ship. We succeeded, and Cassian snuck aboard to steal his hat, at some cost. > > We continued south and picked up our new captain, who turned out to be Ringo! Knowing the curse of the captain, Zeph persuaded Ringo not to be captain, even though it meant that thwarting The Fates like that would have consequences later. Cassian volunteered his son Fuck It instead. Ringo needed help getting back his instruments from a bunch of loan sharks at Fin-A-Gones Wake. > > We stopped at Bastards Bay to pick up Captain Fuck It and then headed to Fin-A-Gones Wake. There we met a bunch of teenage loan sharks who were terrible at playing instruments. Delilah convinced them (especially one of them, Tooth) to instead "loan" the instruments to Ringo, but with an interest rate, to be paid by Ringo putting on a concert and giving Tooth and The Great White (the rest of his "band") a cut. Tooth agreed after a rousing performance by Ringo. > > After the crew except for Zeph celebrated, they were told by The Golden Man that Zeph was gone. Zeph, who had risked a lot to save their friend Ringo, had been told that it was time to finish their magnum opus, after which they were lovingly laid to rest by Fabio. The crew mourned Zeph their own ways: Ori with disbelief and memories of times they'd shared, Cassian with a feeling of guilt for not having protected them when they needed him, and Delilah with a nice long wank while reading Zeph's romance novel, Knotty Nights. ^summary %% ## Video [Video]() %% --- ## Recap ![[No games found#^summary]] --- ## Log - Whiteboard has a grudge against the crew of The Golden Man because Zeph drew a mustache on his sail. PCs - Zeph: Little guy. They/them. They don't like talking to people. They're a little eldritch horror that likes their books. They are a djinn and have random powers that cause shenanigans. They know a lot of stuff. The whiteboard situation was their fault. The reason Cassian is stuck on the ship is also their fault. - Ori: very pretty, minty colored hair. Navigator. Spends in Crow's Nest. Does strange gestures, plays musical instruments. She has blue-green skin and keeps herself covered up. - Leandra: summons demons and shit. (Noelle's character). Mountebank. She has a demon succubus that she can summon and there are people on board to sate her demon. - Cassian: resident wage slave. Sailor. (John) Slightly older guy who believes he can't leave it. He is the reason Bastard Bay exists. Swordfish named Jerry. Whitebeard is chasing us because of the mustache. Whiteboard is another name for him. Some say that the island is actually the body of the feared Jack Skellington. Instead of just the skull, the rest of his body is in the ocean. If we entreat with him in the right way, his skeletal hands will rise from the deep and destroy our enemies. But if we don't treat him right, he'll destroy us. It's very dangerous. We need to figure out what he wants. What would a giant skeleton want? We hit Whiteboard's ship. Graybeard is on the crew. Cassian steals Gandalf (Graybeard)'s hat but with the arm that has the Leroy Jenkins tattoo on it. He uses his magical abilities to steal the tattoo temporarily. He put the tattoo on his head. We go to meet our new captain Ringo all the way south. Ringo is a sentient octopus, Zeph's best friend, who has lost all his instruments and sound equipment because it was repossessed by loan sharks (actual sharks). Ringo wants to captain the ship to Fin-a-Gones Wake and get his equipment back from loan sharks. But we know captains don't survive the adventure... ![[rapscallion-ringo.png]] He's a good drummer and a fabulous gardener. But Zeph convinces him not to be the captain. Instead, Cassian convinces his son Fuck It to be the captain instead. ![[rapscallion-fuckit.png]] We go to Fin-a-Gones Wake and it's actually swarming with sharks. Ringo said we'll hear them. They wanted the instruments so they could form their own band. One clear night, we hear badly played instruments. Fabio is a person in the book that Zeph is talking to. They've both been there since the first captain. Great White is the name of the band the sharks have. One teenage loan shark is called Tooth. He has one big tooth among his smaller ones. I convince him to "loan" the instruments to Ringo and then charge him interest for them... to be charged after Ringo puts on a concert with the instruments. Also Tooth becomes my lover. He agrees to become a concert promoter instead. But that's come at a cost... Zeph finishes writing their magnum opus. Fabio says they've known each other for 100 years. Zeph says it's their time and maybe they'll see each other again. Everyone is celebrating outside, but Zeph dies. Zeph's book finds Ori, including the manifesto that Zeph has. "Explore to the fullest... thanks for everything." Cassian's son Fuck It actually survives, wtf.
