## Session Summary
> [!tldr] [[003_20221109 Rise of the Turnips]]
> We were taken to a noble and we quickly learned that we're not supposed to talk about a disease of undeath... so we started to talk about "turnips" rising. We met Pythagoras, our new party member, and the noble sort of gave us his leave to investigate further. After some hemming and hawing, we decided to go out of the city and towards a farmhouse on the edge of the city. We'd learned from those inside the city that the disease had come from outside, but the farmhands told us that they think the disease had come from inside the city. They think there is necromancy going on inside the city. ^summary

We get taken to a noble. Apparently they don't like people spreading rumours about the undeath.
Pythagoras is a lady elf wizard's apprentice and accountant/legalese speaker. Averagely tall elf with walnut skin, cropped curly hair. Very professional.
We learn that creating undeath is a localized plague. It requires a blood sacrifice and might be something that is being spread through the water. The nobles don't know what's going on outside the city but the plague doesn't seem to be affecting other cities.
Objective: Find the necromantic source that is causing the plague of undeath.
The noble gives us a deputy badge to help us investigate. He won't show us his face.
We know it's probably not some sort of poison. It's a spell or an artifact. It's affecting animals too (at least, land animals).
He's going to give us blueprints of the sewers in 24 hours.
Shallya is the god of mercy.
We go to the slums to try to get information. Edgar disguises himself as a local and pretends that he knows someone who might be able to sell corpse shrouds.
We learn that the curse started with people who came outside and returned into the city.
We decide to go for the hole in the wall that an old crone from the slums pointed out to us. The guards ask for a fee, but let us pass when we show our badges. They ask us if we're looking for "The Spot". We say yes, and they point us to a part of the wall on the other side where it doesn't go through to the other side, but there are crevices that we can climb.
We climb over the wall and head to the closest farmhouse.

We have found a hidden path. We follow it and go to the farmhouse.
There are farmhands here who can't be reasoned with or persuaded to help us. I finally succeed on a *Command* and get someone to talk to us.
It's only been happening for two weeks, but nothing special happened. The city folk think it's coming from outside the city. The farmers think it's coming from inside the city.
The farmer thinks there's necromancy that's going on inside the city.
