# [[002_20220414 New characters who dis]] ## Session Summary > [!abstract] [[002_20220414 New characters who dis]] > > In the mirrored room to the left, we found a similar room to the one we had explored, this time with a figurine of a humanoid with some animals. > > We continued along the corridor and found two more rooms, one on each side, both of which were a bit bigger and ornate than the ones we had seen. In each one, we also found clay figurines, one of a goblin, and another of a winged creature. > > We smashed the figurines safely. Some of them released a poisonous gas, which we avoided. The goblin figurine yielded a ring, which, when Leoric put it on, made his pinky nail grow longer and more like a small blade. > > At the end of the tunnel was a large, heavy stone door that is barred with stone. We lifted it together, but unfortunately did not see the trap that was triggered, sending a large hammer swinging for us. We died! > > New characters! Viola and Viorec are new explorers who are also in debt to Urgo the Crusher. We saw Blackback out at the front, and I convinced him to give us a discount later by giving him a nice kiss. We went through the rooms, noted the destruction, and continued to the central chamber, where we saw the bodies of our previous characters. We looted them quickly and saw three sarcophagi in the room. > > We opened the first one, which had a figurine of a woman with crab claws, and a similarly shaped creature rose out of the sarcophagus to attack us. I used _icy touch_ to make the ground slippery beneath her, and we managed to kill her without much issue. ^summary ## Recap of last session ![[001_20220407 Tomb of the Unseeables#^summary]] --- ## Log How can we heal? - Eat a meal (d3) - Meal + rest will heal us even more (d8) - Healing potions - There may be healing runes, but there is no real divine healing [[Tomb of the Unseeables]] We go down the identical chamber to the left. The wall is made of stone, but mortared and reinforced. It is the mirror image to the one we were just in. There is a clay figurine that is a bit different - it is of a humanoid. There are other animals that are carved out of it, like a snake, scorpion, etc. Crude rendition. There's something rattling around inside. We come across another split. The right opens up into a bigger chamber (twice the size of the previous ones we'd been in). There is a more ornate coffin in the centre, with some carving along the length of it. There is yet another figurine, but this time it's a goblin. It looks like it has a mushroom mixed into its body on the side. Its hand is put on top of its chest, like it's sleeping. The hand has a ring. There's nothing rattling inside. On the outside of the coffin is the familiar wave pattern we saw before. They have been carved with a triangular-shaped tool. We go to the other room. There are crumbled bits of scrolls - the parchment is gone, but the end caps are still there. There are also books. The coffin is in slightly worse shape than the other one... it has mold. Inside there is a figurine in the shape of a mythical creature-- something with wings, holding something that looks like a book. It looks like a scholar. It has three legs. There is something inside. There is again a wavy pattern along the edge of the coffin. We throw the mythical figure figurine into the room but take cover in the hallway. There is another amulet there on the floor when the gas dissipates. It is a pendant on a chain, but a very short one - if you put your thumb and forefinger together, that's how long it is. It is an oval shape, made of metal (iron or steel), polished. We throw the goblin figurine in the moldy room as well. There is no gas, but there is a ring. It is big enough that it fits on Leoric's finger. There may be wave pattern on it, but it's difficult to see in this light. Leoric puts the ring on, and the nail on his finger begins to grow rapidly to the same size of the finger itself. It splits into two forks, like a snake's tongue. It's all blackened. It is super tough and seems to be stronger than the pinky finger it's on. It's like a little blade. We smash the humanoid figurine in the same room. There is gas, and then another of the amulets. We continue down the tunnel and reach a door. It's a large, heavy stone door blocked by a bar across it, also in stone. The bar is hanging on heavy iron pegs on either side of the door. There is a wave pattern engraved on the bar. We lift it. As we lift the bar, the pegs go up as well. We hear a thunk behind us. There is a massive hammer swinging right for us. 2d6+4 damage and we both die!! [[Viola]] bottle saw manacles pole My rune: Icy Touch: A thick ice layer spreads across a touched surface, up to Lx10ft in radius. ![[knave-viola.png]] ![[knave-viola-character-sheet.png]] [[Viorec]] ![[knave-viorec.png]] Start again! We go into the entrance. There are some flies in the air. We go through the rooms and see smashed terracotta on the floor. The coffins are open. We see an open door, and inside that room are two crumpled bodies. There's also a stone beam at a 45-degree angle, further away from them. Discounts on glue. We take their loot and I grab a rune of Masquerade. There are three sarcophagi up ahead. The walls are taller here, and they're still the same type of crude stone walls. The middle one is larger. They have some sort of stone figurine adorning the sarcophagi. Viorec looks at the figurines on top of the sarcophagi - the smaller two are females. One has crab claws (left), another has bird claws (right). Big one in a center is a man with a crown on his head and is the most human of the three. He is holding a sword. The south end has a door that leads out of this chamber. We use the pole to open the lid of the leftmost sarcophagus. Gears keep moving even though we're not pushing anymore. A female shape moving in jerky movements and wielding crab claws starts to whir. I use Icy Touch in front of me so that the female shape slips and falls flat and quiet. Its face has no features - just wrinkly, gray skin.
