# [[005_20220818 When toys don't know they're toys]]
## Session Summary
> [!tldr] [[005_20220818 When toys don't know they're toys]]
> Still recovering from his wounds, Viorec decided to go back to Blackback. Meanwhile, Micho, someone we knew also owed Urgo the Crusher, finally turned up. Micho is someone with a mohawk, deformed face, and a huge chip on his shoulder from being an outcast.
>
> We approached the same Circle of Water (well) that Viorec and I had gotten to, and we realised that there was something living inside it-- a large arm that would sometimes reach out and grasp whatever it could. We skirted the edges of the wall to avoid it, and explored more of the octagonal room.
>
> The first door to the right from the entrance was a passageway that led to a storage room with eight inert membrane creatures carrying rusty swords. Micho wanted to grab one of the swords, but I got a bad feeling about it.
>
> We went to the next room (south), which led to a dead end and collapsed passageway. The next room over (southeast) contained a strange, small, skeleton-like creature holding a fountain pen over a heavy journal. The "Journal of Toys" logged the author's activities as a sort of "toy keeper", with toys referring to innocents that were taken by the king and two ladies that we saw above. They were all sent to the Ticker. Eventually, the journal also chronicled the author's descent into madness as he seemed not to fully be in control of his mental capacities, most likely because he didn't realise he was a toy himself.
>
> The next door over (northeast) led to a roughly circular chamber with a coffin in it. ^summary

## Recap

## Log
- [[Micho]] is part of the same criminal organization and also owes [[Urgo the Crusher]], but he arrived a bit late.
[[Viorec]] returns to Blackback because he was quite hurt (and his player is sick).
![[knave-micho.png]]
Val makes a sign against evil when Micho comes. Micho is deformed and was outcast because of his face.
We keep hearing a noise that echoes every few minutes. We see the statues that we went through.

![[knave-octagonal-room.png]]
Octagonal room
- 10 meters across. On the opposite side, there are double doors. Every side has a door, and there's one passageway to the southwest.
- I throw a copper into it. A hand comes out and grabs the coin. [[The Guardian Below]]
![[knave-guardian-below.png]]
We go into the passageway: [[Tomb of the Unseeables#Room of the Eight Swords]]. The hand reaches out to us and tries to grope for us, but we are too far away and it doesn't do anything.
- There is a room with swords
- There are statues that have membranes stretched on their faces. They're each holding a rusted sword. They are made of some material that isn't stone.
- It looks like a storage room.
- There are eight of them.
- Micho wants to grab one of the swords but I get a bad feeling.
We leave this and go to the south door.
- It's ajar and there is a passage way past it.
- Dead end. It's just a collapsed passageway. [[Tomb of the Unseeables#Dead End]]
Southeast room. [[Tomb of the Unseeables#Study of the Toy Scribe]]
- Door is closed. When Micho opens it, we see a white light coming out of it.
- It leads into a room. The light comes from above.
![[knave-the-toykeeper.png]]
- Thing that looks like the other creatures but this one is smaller, almost a hunchback. Membrane-like skin that is see-through and we can see its bones. The membrane is more whitish than the other ones. It also has teeth.
- It is holding a huge fountain pen, hovering just over the page of a large book.
- The noise is coming from the double doors now. It's quite loud.
- The thing is unmoving. The hand is rock steady. The nib of the pen is very shiny.
- The book is water damaged and we can't read what it says on the page that is open.
Micho tries to grab the book and there is a grinding sound. The book slowly comes free. He finds a part that was not damaged.

Journal of Toys
_This is journal is badly damaged by water. While a heavy tome, only a section in the middle is possible to read._
_<water damage>_ ... order is important. The Ticker requires that I ... _<water damage>_
## Monday Februrary 4, Third year of duke Whitewater
- The first lady returned with a female, about fifteen years of age. Cocky. Sent on to Ticker.
- The second lady returned with a male, about seven years of age. Afraid and maybe mute. Sent on to Ticker.
- The king returned empty-handed. Minor damage. Sent back to storage. Goes out again tomorrow.
## Saturday, February 9, Third year of duke Whitewater
This morning I had a nightmare that I did not uphold order. It made me wonder how long I have done this. It doesn't matter. Order is important. The Ticker requires that I do my part.
I think I have had this nightmare before, but I don't remember when.
## Monday, February 11, Third year of duke Whitewater
- The first lady returned empty-handed. Goes out again tomorrow.
- The second lady returned with a male, about twenty-and-five of age. Heavily damaged. Discarded in pit.
- The king returned with lone female. Healthy, but the Guardian below reacted to her, had to temporaily deactivate it to get past. I think there is something off with her. Sent on to Ticker.
###
Same evening
The Ticker found the lone female is not human. The Ticker likes the new toy. I like that The Ticker praises me, then the nightmares go away. She tried to escape. so I chained her. I left the key with the Ticker, that way the little ones will not walk away with it.
I am instructed to remember BALTOPLAT. I must not forget. I cannot forget. I will never forget. I am not able to forget. It is orderly to not forget. Order is important. The Ticker requires that I do my part.
I don't remember who I am. I must ask the Ticker who I am and why it must all be so orderly. Have I asked before? I think I may have asked before.
## Tuesday, February 12, Third year of something
I talked to the Ticker. Order is imporant. The Ticker requires that I do my part. I don't remember what I was so worried about. I slept well.
## Monday, February 18, Something
- The first lady returned with _<water damage>_
- The second ... _<water damage>_
- The king ... _<water damage>_
```
[[The Guardian Below]] could be the thing in the well.
The lone human is not human.
`BALTOPLAT`.
LLAATTPOB
The ink in the fountain pen is dry. [[Duke Whitewater]] was the Duke of [[Amria]] about 90 years ago.
The light is coming from a fissure in the ceiling above. It doesn't seem to be sunlight-- it's a white light.
I feel a faint draft coming from the double doors. They're not completely sealed.
- Northeast door
- There's no light here, but there is an opening leading into a circular chamber. It's not a perfect circle. It's a bit unevenly shaped-- it's disconcerting.
- There is a stone coffin with a heavy lid.
- There is a wave pattern from the room above.
- On the other side of the coffin, away from the entrance, I find a set of dolls, but it's rotten. There's also a rotten satchel.
- 25 coppers
- copper ring that is unrusted. Decoration on it that looks like it is engraved with eyes. My left eye pops out and I can see from it AND from my other eye!
