# 01_20200919 Ambush at Broken Arrow Taphouse ## Session Summary [[Cyriac]] told me that he, [[Reona]], and [[Gloomtoes]] were going to meet a dragonborn and a human at the [[Broken Arrow Taphouse]] and asked me to act as a sniper or scout just in case things go wrong. He wanted to investigate rumors that [[Ka'ira]], the [[Dragonborn]], possess the royal sword [[Syrinx]], which can only be wielded by one with the blood of [[Alagondar]]. Stationed within sniping range on the roof of the building, I watched as [[Ka'ira]], [[Maestro]], and their companion ([[Hill]]) enter the taphouse, followed by [[Neverember's guard]] force of about 16 people. There are sounds of a scuffle inside the tavern. Rhionna quickly leaves the scene shortly afterwards, and [[Cyriac]] staggers outside, near-unconscious. I heal him, and he confirms that it seems like [[Ka'ira]] is a royal descendant (although he's not 100% sure). He says he'll meet me at the [[House of Knowledge]]. Cursing the weakness of academics, I realize I must join the battle and save Ka'ira if there is even a chance that she is an Alagondar. I try to help, but as reinforcements arrive, it becomes more and more obvious that we need to retreat. Gloomtoes helps out as he flees, telling me in code that he'll meet me at the Temple of Ogma. Ka'ira flees. Maestro comes out, bloodied, and tells me Ka'ira is his sister. I realize that Maestro could also be of Alagondar descent, so I heal him and protect him in the best way I can, slowing down minions as I cover our escape. At the end of the encounter, Gloomtoes has gone in another direction, but Ka'ira, Maestro, Hill, and I are all together. ^summary --- ## Log - [[Ka'ira]] and [[Maestro]] are at the [[Broken Arrow Taphouse]] to have a meeting - [[Indigo]] owns the [[Broken Arrow Taphouse]] - Secret phrase for the [[Broken Arrow Taphouse]] is "I bear many gifts". Human - We're finished with the encounter but [[Ka'ira]], [[Maestro]], [[Hill]] and I are running away together. [[Gloomtoes]] has run off in a different direction and will be meet me in [[House of Knowledge]] ## Loose Ends - Questions about what I know - [x] Why did Rhionna flee? What do I know about her? Can she be trusted? - `You’ve known Reona and Gloomtoes for about two years. They both claim they’ve been at it for longer. Reona has proven to be a reliable and useful thief, spotter, and skulk—and just a bit too angry at Neverember.` - [x] What do I know about this book that [[Cyriac]] was going to steal when Ka'ira saved him? - `Cyriac is a historian, academic, and claims come from a family of sages that can be traced back to the time of the Alagondars. You know that on the times he is sent on missions, it is to identify books or documents that Neverember  is about to receive and/or destroy.` - [x] Was [[Gloomtoes]] really "sleeping" there, or did we mean for him to be there? - `Gloomtoes was “in on it.” A psion is a rarity in the Sons and eccentric as he is, he is on your side for now. He hasn’t shown any ill will to Neverember but has always supported the cause when needed. He claims to hear whispers in some parts of the city, but no one pays much heed to it.` - [x] What do I know about the [[Sarthos]]? - > There is a loose hierarchy within the Mintarn mercenaries. You know the top brass to be General Sabine, a cruel but efficient woman, and several lower-ranked soldiers report to her. This dude is probably one of them. You haven’t heard of this one in particular, but the thugs with him are standard sell swords. - [[Kuya]] - Current Goals - [x] Go to the [[House of Knowledge]] to meet up with Gloomtoes, Cyriac, and Reona. - [x] Protect Ka'ira and Maestro. - [x] Take a short break when I can, to recover my [[Encounter Powers]] - [x] Ask Reona why she fled. - [x] Talk to Gloomtoes and ask him about the whispers he hears in some parts of the city. [[Next Actions]] #[[ttrpgs/Order of the Wandering Mind/Agenda]] - Ask Ka'ira and Maestro - [x] Can Maestro hold [[Syrinx]]? Is he also of Alagondar descent? - [x] Who else knew that Ka'ira was going to meet up with the Sons? - Mechanics questions - [x] Do I get XP from that encounter?
