# [[099_20211204 Naked in the Ubilet]]
## Session Summary
> [!tldr] [[099_20211204 Naked in the Ubilet]]
> Invidoo told us that Karias had escaped the Force Chimera. After I felt that there was something amiss in the castle, we explored a bit and saw Sarthos's body in the Vault of the Nine, _not_ where we had left it. We compared notes with Arlon. He mentioned that there was someone who had provided The Nashers weapons, but they'd never met her. Maestro helped me design a banner to symbolize the Graycloaks/Sons of Alagondar.
>
> We took a long rest, during which Ka'ira failed to control Maugwraithe. We had to leave her in the ubilet until she was able to control herself, coming out of the ubilet also speaking Netherese.
>
> I touched the Ioxian Obelisk and I, along with the rest of the party, got whisked away into some sort of room! It seemed like everyone arcane (Eraithe, Keren, and me) got teleported into some sort of control room with a sphere and chairs around it. Meanwhile, the martials (Ka'ira and Maestro) disappeared and reappeared in a desert. I could watch what happened to them in a sort of reflection of reality that appeared before us.

> Ka'ira and Maestro had to fight wolfriders and goblins while I explored the room and the throne-like chairs around the sphere. ^summary

## Log
2PM
[[Invidoo]] said [[Assassin of the Black Bolt|Karias]] escaped from the [[Force Chimera]].
Obelisk seems to have a dim light. [[Sarthos]]'s hands have strange burn marks on both of his hands. They look like they might correspond to touching the obelisk. I'm not sure. We put Sarthos's body in the jail cells so that when he wakes up, he won't be able to escape.
There is a circular seam in the floor around the obelisk. The coffin's edges trace around it. The teleportation spire seems untouched except that the door to it is open. I feel that the magical wards of this castle are down.
We took the map from [[The Kraken Tunnels]]. [[Arlon Bladeshaper|Arlon]] says he's the one who drew it. He had been planning an attack against [[Sabine]] and the three lieutenants. He said he thought that the easiest place to attack them is in the [[Moonstone Mask]]. But the mercenaries have been changing their tactics - they're now wielding wands that shoot bolts of force, and they're practicing how to use those daily on the bridge by the Moonstone Mask. They're experimenting with new things
- Formations
- Sling
- Blowgun
- Dust that emits light
Sabine has a reputation for winning most, if not all, of her engagements. She's formidable even without the sword.
We tell Arlon about the rally and everything we know about the Force Chimera.
Maestro asks about the Nashers' previous supplier before the Dead Rats. Arlon says that the only thing he knew was that it was a [[Mysterious Nasher benefactor|a woman]]. He's not really sure who she is. She just said "We will provide you with weapons to fight Neverember." When Arlon asked her what they needed to do in return, the woman said "Fight well." Arlon says she sounded like she wasn't human. She sounded like she was a ghost with an old dialect. She talks as if she's reciting a line in a poem, and then stops. She had a strange accent and her voice lilts up and down. It's like she's not talking to him. She has a strange perfume: sweet, sickly. It's not really a perfume but she just smells strange.
Let's check the basket of weapons in the Kraken Tunnels after the waters have subsided.
40 hours to craft a banner.

16:30 We take a short rest.
Day 21!
I fail to renew the charm on Ka'ira. :O We take her to the ubilet.
I learn [[Remove Affliction (ritual)]] from the [[Grimoire of Heraldry]]. We take a long rest at 1 am.
Ka'ira is able to push back at [[The First Blade|Maugwraithe]] with a 33. She learns Supernal (which she already speaks) but also a tongue of Common known as [[The Netherese|Netherese]]. It still has other powers that it won't share with her because she is neither Lawful nor Evil. She learns that the gems contain two of three souls.
Ka'ira will have to stay attuned to Maugwraithe for a week. During our long rests, we all have nightmares of blue lightning.

I touch the [[The Ioxian League Obelisk in Castle Never]]. The seam that Maestro mentioned lights up from below and I feel my feet get stuck to the floor. The rest of the room seems to start to move up. The floor around the obelisk seems to be moving down. Everyone jumps in with me. Instead of seeing the cross-section of the floor and stone, it's just black. The speed of our descent is accelerating. Our feet are still stuck on the floor. The circle of light where we came from is quickly growing smaller as we descend. We stop moving after a minute. Eraithe, Keren, and Xio feel a wave of arcane energy passing through us, emanating from someone else. Eraithe, Xio, and Keren disappear! I am in [[The Castle Never Control Room]].
Ka'ira and Maestro find themselves in a desert, but it's not that hot. They don't see an obelisk. They see sand, sky, sun.
From my perspective, Kaira and Maestro disappear. The obelisk is here with us. We find ourselves in a room with metal parts: pistons moving, rollers, platforms, wheels turning, gears. There's a smell of oil or fluid in the air. We see the hole in the ceiling, 100 feet up, where we came from. In this room, there are six concentric rings (one is 5 feet wide, another is 20 feet wide), all spinning on different axes. In the middle of the ring is a sphere of a dark-coloured metal. This structure is suspended in the air above a circular dais (waist-high). There are symbols above this circular table/platform. There are four chairs nearby, each of a different design. There is a 5-foot passageway through the machines. Some of the machines end in sharp points, pointing towards the disk-like thing that has runes on it (we're too far from them yet).
There are stations to the left and to the right next to the wall on the perimeter of this room. There seem to be chairs with levers and buttons. In the stations, there is an orb that floats above it. The one on my left is flashing red (it's normally white).
Ka'ira and Maestro see some trees and a pool, like a bit of an oasis. They see small figures - goblins. One seems to be swimming in the shallow pool. Another seems to be climbing a tree. Others seem to be fighting or sleeping in some sort of camp. 10-20 goblins here that are riding wolves. They seem to be as surprised to see Ka'ira and Maestro as Ka'ira and Maestro are to see them. Some of the goblins gather weapons and get on wolf-like creatures.
Me, Eraithe, Keren: We see Ka'ira and Maestro, the goblins, and the desert, as a reflection of reality. We are in a circular room. The disk has runes of protection. The chairs look like thrones, in a semicircle in front of the spinning rings. If I approach any chair, an orb comes out from the floor in front of the chair. Each orb looks different but they're all solid white.
1 2 3 4 5 6
- 1: I touch it. It seems to try to form a connection with me, but it rejects me. This chair looks expensive and grand. It's made of platinum and plated gold. 2-4 look cheaper although still intricate. This is Golden - of human make. It rejects Keren too. Eraithe tries it and it rejects him too.
- 2: Can't tell which race made it.
- 3: Elven make. I sit here and touch the orb. It accepts me. I attune to the orb. This chair is for The Watcher. I activate this orb and my sight appears a few hundred feet above the castle, a very high perspective.
- 4: Smaller than the others - halfling/gnome.
- 5: Keren - he has levers near him that have some handwritten notes. The lever says _Embiggen_. Similar to the Watcher one, but I can't move it. It's a fixed view from the castle looking out, on the ground by one of the spires. This was the one with the orb that was flashing red.
- 6: Eraithe can't move it. Orb responds to me. Ground level watching, from a different area. I find a label with the word "*Achoo*" on it.
Ka'ira and Maestro have wolfriders and goblins with battleaxes and chainmail running towards them.
