# 09_20201025 Meeting Madame Rosene, Level 6 ## Session Summary The next morning, we speak with Cyriac, Gloomtoes, and Reona a bit more about plans for the Sons, including potentially going into Castle Never. We head to the Driftwood Tavern, where we debrief with Madame Rosene, give her the ledger, and ask her what we should do next. She suggests getting more resources from Castle Never or the Pirates' Skyhold or figuring out a way to purify the river. I asked if she would be able to give us resources, but all she could offer was to help us regain our lost items (the cart from Round Rump as well as the books and Ka'ira's armor). We headed back to the manor safehouse. ^summary ## Recap ![[08_20201024 Getting to Blacklake District#^summary]] ## Log - We level up! I am now Level 6! Maestro and Ka'ira are Level 7. - White orc horn was found in the orc's bag. - with Ka'ira - Both Ka'ira and Maestro have dreams. - only die and doll are magical - The die is a common magic item with low-level magic but once a day I can roll it in the presence of an enemy - Checked Maestro for spellplague. I rolled an 18 Arcana, but I didn't find anything unusual. He said there was blue lightning in his dream, however. - [x] Check Maestro again for signs of the spellplague. #[[ttrpgs/Order of the Wandering Mind/Agenda]] [[Next Actions]] - Asked Reona to try to find our Round Rump cart, books, and armor. - Maestro wants to solve the water crisis. - We could exit to the north. - Cyriac on going into [[Castle Never]]: ghosts are there, important areas are locked, the [[Vault of the Nine]] (protected by the nine), maze under the castle meant to confuse thieves, and it is said that when the rightful heir arrives, the resources of the castle will be made available to that heir. - Cyriac says: Pirates' Skyhold also has a lot of treasure. - I took the ledger from Cyriac. We're going to see Madame Rosene. - Castle Never - monument of Neverwinter's glory - walls collapsed, fires started and the family perished here. Now it looks like a war zone. stone and fallen statues in the courtyard. - Blacklake ripples as we move past. It's entirely black and there are slimy things moving there. There are signs saying "Children Beware. Bog-walker near. Turn back." - [[Driftwood Tavern]] - I've never been here before - different architecture from the rest of Neverwinter. It isn't badly damaged: the door has a knocker and looks fancy, as if it came from a noble house. Cozy atmosphere, candles in chandeliers, harp, people talking quietly. Looks more like a museum than a shop. Fancy wall, decor. - People are older and not rich. Stained glass overhead with hundreds of candles. - Sign outside: "mercenaries not welcome. orcs either." - Old lady in her 50s with gray hair, mostly white. Hair tied in a bun. Glasses. Human. Talking to someone else who leaves. - Human guard with a morningstar beside him. - Madame Rosene knows Cyriac. Most of the people here know each other and are old friends. - I gave the ledger to Madame Rosene. - Rosene wants nobles to come back and rule again. Neverember has stopped noble houses from returning and guilds from forming because he feels they're a threat to his power. Unlike Waterdeep, known as a city of guilds. - Most valuable help for now: money from Castle Never/Skyhold or solving the problems of the red river. - She's now getting noble families back to Neverwinter but this political quest is not suitable to us. - No magical things - they are a poor faction. - Big guard is [[Boza]] but he is needed here. - She will try to find armor and books. Ghosts and undead types should be in Castle Never. And a singing skeleton. - [x] Wait one or two days (Day 4 or 5) for Madame Rosene to find our stuff. #[[ttrpgs/Order of the Wandering Mind/Agenda]] [[Waiting For]] - We told her about the two men looking for Nashers headquarters and the skeletons. She thinks they weren't Nashers nor Graycloaks - so who? - Sabine was there to look for us. The mercenaries may have been sent to guard a city that's south. - She knew Cymril (female) personally and as a good leader. She was passionate and noble. Rosene tried to follow in her footsteps. She doesn't believe Cymril would have betrayed the Sons. Reona was with her on that recon mission when Cymril died. - She asked if we were sure that Tyr is alive. - I gave the die to Maestro. - [ ] Tell Madame Rosene that the mercenaries said "an elf" had told them to follow Maestro, which is what led them to Ka'ira.
