# 29_20201206 More Portal Demons ## Session Summary Still in the Value of the Nine, we see more portals opening to a place that Declan later confirmed as Mount Hotenow. We fought the Rune Spiral Demons and Blood Seep Demons that came out, with Xio managing to intimidate and then Thunderwave a Blood Seep Demon back into the portal. As we watched it get restrained in the lightning that was somehow crackling on the ground on the other side of the portal, the Blood Seep Demon was snatched away by a Vrok, despite its pleas for a "Xolath" to come and save it. Declan absorbed one of the Rune Spiral Demons, an ability Ka'ira learned that she also had. As we settled in for a long rest, I read the genealogy book, and learned that there are indeed twin Alagondar children that match Ka'ira and Maestro's description: Rilitar and Alaion Alagondar. It looks like there's been ash on the ground for weeks. - Animal noises and grunts coming from the portal as 2 snails come out. Small-sized (like Gloomtoes), red and oozing slime as they move. They are on their backs. We see magical sigils as if someone had carved or painted them on their shells. They move fast. - They investigate the portal first, and then they step in. - They have some fire to them and they look demonic, but they don't radiate warmth. - Hill identifies these are [[Rune Spiral Demons]] - Each snail seems to be a master of one energy type. - ## Defenses - AC: 17 - Reflex: - Fortitude: - Will: 17 - ## Attack - Lightning rune, burst 2 - Lightning crackles around shell when someone is in melee. vs Reflex attack as an immediate reaction - Bite: (melee) vs AC: 5 standard damage. - This place should be protected from portals. Why are there portals here? And demons, nonetheless? - There's still lightning from within the portal. Weird lightning and weird wind. It's like it's coming up from the ground. The dust is sort of floating as if the wind is increasing. - The muttering intensifies. Another demon comes out of the portal. Medium humanoid demon that we haven't seen before. It has two arms and is green. There's a cloud around it and we can see that it has big black eyes with no whites. It has claws that are dripping with some slime or liquid that is also covering its body. It tentatively crosses the portal while looking back into it. As he looks inside the room, he's surprised that he's somewhere else. Two of the same kind. #[[Blood Seep Demon]] - Abyssal conversation - - Where are we? The ground shakes with lightning there. They're just foot soldiers that you can give commands to. They can speak. He's restrained by the lightning through the portal and is prone and writhing on the ground. He shouts and the claws of the bigger demon comes and crushes the blood seep demon and flies out. The shouting in abyssal stops as it falls into pieces. - Maestro has seen those talons before. They were the talons of a [[Vrock]] (like one that took [[Vierlene]]). - Round 8: [x] Heal Eraithe with Life Transference - End of round: In the portal, the lightning is coalescing into something wider than it is tall. It's forming into some figure like a lizard. Low, long. But it's hard to tell what it is because of the lightning. The wind has picked up and everything loose above the soil is blown away. - Round 9: [x] Second Wind to gain back 10 HP - Lightning begins to solidify into a reptilian face, red scaled.
