# 30_20201211 Getting out of Castle Never ## Session Summary Still in the Vault, we shared notes from our readings and realized that there is a discrepancy in the birth years of Rilitar and Aialon Alagondar and Ka'ira and Maestro (as told to them by Father Tyson). The Obelisk had started to glow again after our long rest, so I touched it and fixed the magical wards in the castle, making it so that the portals would no longer open and the rooms would no longer rearrange. We made our way out of the castle, passing by other rooms we'd seen before and connecting the dots between the rooms we hadn't seen and the doors we'd seen but not entered. ^summary ## Recap ![[29_20201206 More Portal Demons#^summary]] ## Log - Don't know how much older [[ttrpgs/Order of the Wandering Mind/Noshalah Alagondar]] is. - The father is Alagondar, not [[Neia Alagondar]]. [[Illegible Alagondar]] - Note on seadogs' lair. Paper in that room seemed less crumbly because it was sealed. So unsure how old it is. Looks like it was written recently, but then that could just be because it was well preserved. - Ka'ira and Maestro were told they were 26 years old (from [[Father Tyson]]). However, [[ttrpgs/Order of the Wandering Mind/Rilitar Alagondar]] and [[ttrpgs/Order of the Wandering Mind/Alaion Alagondar]] were born __about__ 10 years before. - long rest - obelisk started glowing again - Identifying magical items - [[Crown of Neverwinter]] - Has many jewels - Gain resist 10 fire and 10 cold - Daily Utility power: Nasher's Wrath - Immediate interrupt. Whenever you are dazed, stunned, or dominated, the triggering effect is nullified against you. If a creature causes that effect, it takes 10 fire and cold damage. - Encounter Utility: Nasher's Tongue - Minor action. You gain +5 bonus to the next Bluff, Diplomacy, or Intimidate check to a skill check you make until the end of your next turn. - [[Orb of Neverwinter]]: - Large and faintly glowing white pearl. - Since Maestro started touching it, images of Bahamut have started to appear inside it, amongst its cloudy depths. - Can be used as a holy symbol or as an implement. - It was created to destroy undead and protect the living from them, to defeat the lords of the undead. - Will reveal some of its powers to you if you face undead. - It communicates things through emotions and images, warm light coming from the orb. - Right now it feels content. - No attack or bonus damage that Maestro can see. - Encounter Standard Action. Use Radiant Smite (paladin power). - Daily Implement Standard. Attack each undead within 10 squares. Wisdom vs. Will. It pulls all undead 8. - It shows images of Maestro killing undead. - I touch the [[The Ioxian League Obelisk in Castle Never]] - Castle is using this power source for its magical protections. - power source is powering the portals - magic source is flawed - obelisk is like a power outlet, it's not the source itself. Power source is immense. - Able to access with a roll of 32 (With Gloomtoes's help). I notice that it encompasses all the doors of the castle and the teleportation circle room. There is magic in the statues and coffins here. I find the errant arcane words. The castle wasn't meant to bring in creatures through portals. It didn't have that capability before. It was designed just to protect from teleporting in (any magical means). Somehow that instruction was warped. I fix that glitch and we can confidently assume that no more portals will assume to this castle. I have also reinforced the castle's magical defenses against invaders. Despite all of the magic that is flowing through this castle, the magic flowing out into the other place is stronger still. It's even stronger than the defenses here. All enchantments that are awry are fixed. - Loot: - 4 rune spiral demons - 3 evistro demons - eye of golden brown topaz each - 3 topazes - Certain spells need foci. Foci are usually variable materials, and I suppose that gems could perform the same purpose. - Declan - saw Evistro demons and Vroks. Didn't see Ustilagors. But if they work with demons, that's an uncommon occurrence and it bodes well for everyone. - How old is [[Declan]]? Around 20s. His brother is 25. - Opened door to the Crypt - Corridor is well lit. That wasn't here before. - Demon head is still here, no demons. - Head was separated from the body. - Eraithe: longsword properties - Eladrin make - made for rogues: it cannot be seen and it gives them an opportunity to attack. - The door out of the crypt leads to the long corridor except that they are leading to the various rooms we've been to. - Not straight; it curves - When we test the doors, they no longer change. Now it's a normal castle. - 13. [[Servants' Quarters]] - simple beds, dusty, hasn't been used - for those that used to live here - room that stinks - [[Cesspit]] - store room is now not in magical darkness - Golden door: [[Basement Stairs]] that go up. At the top of the stairway is the fourth door that we went through. All these rooms were undergound - We go all the way out. - Ghostly guards are still patrolling. They nod at Ka'ira (who's wearing the crown). - End of corridor: Ka'ira can see a glimmering outline of a door. [[Teleportation Spire]] - Wall vanishes when Ka'ira raises her hand. - Circular tower with staircase going up. - Decorations are more ornate than the rest of the castle - looks like it's for royalty or for show. Better trimmings, more finely-made walls. - Stairs go up for about five stories, but ceilings are higher here. When we get to the highest point, we see the portal room. - Two other spires are still standing. Farther spire ([[The Spider Spire]]) seems to be covered with webs. Unlike this spire, the other spires seem to have normal windows (that we can see through the fake windows of this room). The other spire is not covered in webs ([[the Big Tree Spire]]). The other spires are in ruins. The way is blocked because those parts of the castle collapsed. - [x] Ask Kuya if there's anything in the book about [[Lady Myrtria Ember]], or about [[Lord Vers Never]] from [[Waterdeep]] getting married. Anything that might hint at who [[Neverember]] actually is - maybe he's the son of a close rival, or a servant, or noble at that time? Who are [[Illegible Alagondar]]'s parents? [[Next Actions]] #[[ttrpgs/Order of the Wandering Mind/Agenda]] - [ ] When we find Galadim, ask him if he has regained any other knowledge #[[ttrpgs/Order of the Wandering Mind/Agenda]] [[Waiting For]] - Who is [[The Master of the Ebon Hand]]? (Maestro calls him the man with the hidden face) - [[Devils]] are lawful evil. [[Demons]] are chaotic evil. -
