# 49_20210131 How to fix the Hall of Justice ## Session Summary Thraid marched off to the Hall of Justice. Along the way, she frightened a group of teenage mercenaries and stopped a passer-by to tell him to spread the word that "Thraid is awake". In the Hall of justice, we met [[Chand Stamaraster]], the Deva priest. Ka'ira realized that some crystal things they have come across (BX) were things that were stolen from here. She returned the crystal shard and the glass sword currently being used by Eraithe. Chand also told her that she should travel back to the Fey Crossing to bring the petrified paladin there back to the land of the living. ^summary ## Recap ![[48_20210130 Rescuing the ettercaps#^summary]] ## Log [[Thraid]] goes out for the first time since she was awakened. She especially wants to go see the [[Cloak Tower]]. - [[Pirates' Skyhold]] is now an earthmote. - Red water of [[Neverwinter River]] - Iceberg is seen from the docks in the Protector's Enclave. We see a squad of 4 [[Mintarn mercenaries]] who look green and very afraid of us. Thraid begins to cast something (cold magic) and they run away. She doesn't say if it would have killed them... [[Nash Alagondar]] called her "zealous", not "reckless". She goes to the [[Hall of Justice]]. Ka'ira is talking to a young, female elf with silver hair and eyes. She has a dog with her. She is carrying some pots of soil. Ka'ira asks about the spider situation. The elf says the mercenaries are fighting the spider, but they can't seem to capture or kill it. It's cold - ice wherever it goes. Her name is [[Arwell]]. She recognizes the name "Alagondar" when Ka'ira introduces herself. Thraid is talking to a passer-by and asking them if they know who she and [[the Nine]] are and whether the passer-by still serves Tyr. - It's a male elf in leather with a round face and blue eyes. Yes, "we have always worshipped Tyr, even in these hard times." He is looking around nervously as if someone might hear him. No, he hasn't heard of her. - Thraid tells him to tell people "Thraid is awake". I'm looking at our surroundings. [[Neverember's Villa]] is next to the Hall of Justice. It's similar to [[Mordai Vell]]'s manor. Same architecture, same broad structure. But it's less imposing. Mordai Vell's manor had higher walls. Neverember's villa is humble. Damaged, like everything, but salvageable. It's about half of Mordai Vell's manor. There's a manor outside his house that shows his coat of arms (face of gold dragonborn on a blue background). The banner is 20 feet high, 10 feet wide. We go to the Hall of Justice. There are life-sized statues on pillars - different people with different professions. 12 of them: 6 on each side of the hallway. On the far end is a gigantic statue of [[Tyr]]. He is the "maimed god". He's holding a warhammer up with one hand on which are balanced scales of justice. His other hand is cut off. ![[TBsPaN7mqw 1.jpg]] There are fruits and other offerings (chicken, plants) at the altar. There are some people milling about in robes, fixing things and lighting candles, praying. There are no pews, so they're either standing or sitting on the ground. The architecture here is different from that of the [[Vault of the Nine]] and the [[Teleportation Spire]]. Those had dwarven and eladrin influences; this one is purely human architecture from that era (ancient). No mixes from other races. We approach the statue of Tyr. Someone from the temple in robes and emerald skin turns to meet us. They have no pupils and they have markings on their faces and hands. They are Deva (same as the librarians in [[Helm's Hold]]). [[Deva]] man says "Tyr welcomes you. We don't get many visitors like you around here," to Thraid. Thraid calls him "ancient one" instead of "young one" like she normally does. Man says they've had a lack of priests since the temple suffered damage from the eruption, but Neverwintans are still followers of the god of justice. Many perished in the eruption. Nobody else other than him returned. Everyone else here are acolytes, but none of them shares the divine power like he does. Name: "[[Chand Stamaraster]]". He keeps using different titles of Tyr: "temple of the even-handed", for example. Temple of Grimjaws. Maimed God, Wounded God. Maestro notices that the six statues along the hall seem to be made partly of glass and partly of marble. Some of them seem to be missing things that they used to be holding (staff, holy symbol, goblet - not weapons). They're clean and cared for, but they're not whole. There are carved murals in the hall depicting battles with paladins, clerics, even monks fighting in Tyr's name throughout the ages. Fighting demons in the abyss as well. Fighting orcs that are mounted on fanged or tusked creatures with shamans. Fighting something wrapped in flames in the mosaic. There is a conspicuous absence of other gods in the temple. It's only about Tyr. Crystal shard that Ka'ira has looks similar to the glass in the statue. - "Praise the maimed god it has been found! It was pilfered from one of our statues in recent memory." They sent [[Petrified paladin in Feycrossing|a paladin]] after her but she has not been found. (Ka'ira and Maestro know that she's been petrified by a basilisk in the fey crossing, somewhere near Helm's Hold.) "It should become your purpose to bring your fellow paladin back to the land of the living." The shard becomes the center of the bow. When the Deva walks, it's like he's on wheels. He almost glides. [[Iarno]] had a glass staff. He was Ka'ira and Maestro's first boss ever, and he's been jailed. - They rescued Phandalin from Iarno. Iarno was arrested by [[The Lords' Alliance]] and escorted out ouf Phandalin. The Lords' Alliance is another faction. Protectors of civilization. Most cities that are part of the Alliance have a representative. In [[Phandalin]], it's [[Sildar]]. Glass sword from [[Eraithe]] fits perfectly into the warrior's hand. Eraithe needs a sword. [[Fey Crossing]] - Obelisks with arcane writing - in hindsight, possibly [[Ioxian League]]? - Statue of a faceless humanoid that the obelisks were around.
