# 55_20210313 Searching for Galadim ## Session Summary We caught up with Madame Rosene and got updated on what has happened in Neverwinter recently. While we were there, we were interrupted by the Assassin of the Black Bolt, whose attempt to kill Ka'ira was thwarted only by other people from the Driftwood Tavern who shielded her with their bodies. We went back to Castle Never, where we found out that a necromancer had come in and killed some of the servants and had done something by Tar'gath's spire. We spent some time looking for Galadim in the rubble where his spire once was, but we didn't find anything. ^summary ## Recap of last session ![[54_20210221 Rest and Surgery#^summary]] --- ## Log We leave the safehouse to go to [[Madame Rosene]] at [[Driftwood Tavern]]. The [[Blacklake]] itself is a viscuous and black body of water. Plants around it have oil or tar and are dead or dying. It's always been like this. There are rumors of things coming out of the lake. The [[Beached Leviathan]] is noisy. There is the occasional scuffle and there are people laughing and singing and talking. I gave Madame Rosene 10 sp from Bahamut coins. She loves it. She likes books, architecture, and water clocks. The water clock guild no longer exists so she would be very happy to display one in the tavern. She also likes flowers - Neverwinter was famous for a flower that bloomed all year. She has good news. Some of the nobles have arrived. They're still complaining that the gates are still being guarded though. They can't bring their entire houses and families, but they've started trickling in. It's going to be a problem as long as mercenaries have orders to prevent the nobles from coming in. They're actually disguising themselves as peasants just to get in. [[Moonstone Mask]] is open to the public, but mostly mercenaries go there (maybe some richer nobles). It's an expensive place to stay. One of Rosene's agents found out that [[Sabine]] hasn't been there in a while. Sabine marched a batallion of mercenaries (including her Force Chimera - her elite personal guard) and marched south. Some people are reporting that fish-like creatures have been spotten in the river. No damage or attacks, but they seem to be living in the blood-red river. They're like tadpoles but they're red and freakish. They've been trying to get out of the water, but people are just kicking them back. They have grotesquely big eyes and fins like tentacles. [[Cyriac]] and [[Indigo]] are resting after the ambush. Rosene gave them a few days off. Rosene says Cyriac wants to bring back the old Neverwinter. He might be one of the people who have stayed in Neverwinter the longest. Cyriac isn't really interested in politics - he just likes knowledge. Ka'ira uses the sending stone to tell Mordai that Sabine hasn't been around For a few days. Rosene says that [[Mordai Vell]] doesn't really have anything to do with her and the Sons. Rosene on [[Ice Phase Spider]]: it deposits eggs after it feeds. Rosene: leader of Nashers [[Arlon Bladeshaper]] is requesting a meeting with her. Their headquarters in the sewers, called [[The Kraken Tunnels]]. It's in two days. Only the top members of both factions meet there. The headquarters are protected by an ancient creature aside from being hard to find. Madame Rosene knows where it is, but has to be escorted there. Crash as one of the windows explodes. Something thin and black bursts through the window and hits [[Boza]]. He was seated on his chair beside the door. His eyes are open but he's not moving. He's not critically wounded. Yellow liquid is dripping from the bolt. There was no yellow liquid when Ka'ira was hit. I heal Boza for his surge value + 8. But Boza is still not moving though. He's drooling. Maestro flies Lydia out. The [[Assassin of the Black Bolt]] comes in through the door. Smoke comes in. "My contract is just to kill her (Ka'ira)." He is rebandaged and is wearing a hood. There's something sweet about the smoke. He has gone through many names and many faces (reincarnates). It doesn't matter how much they are paying for a contract. A contract is a contract. He accepted the contract and must fulfill it. - Minor: knack - Action: I hold Visions of Avarice for if he goes to hurt anyone. - Move: back away, closer to Ka'ira and Maestro Patrons rush towards Ka'ira to try to protect her. They want to shield her with their own bodies. I super got Boza's truename. (24) He is poisoned from a contact poison from an herb found around the wilderness in this area. Not many people know how to make the poison. But the poison itself does not do damage - it just paralyzes him. I take out my occarina and try to cheer up everyone. Maestro draws the scene. Driftwood Tavern is lit by hundreds of candles. Sign: "Orcs and mercs not welcome" I take 5 skulls and give Ka'ira one of the skulls. It is an orc skull, and one that isn't completely rotten. In the castle, there are fewer servants than normal. The necromancer (she) destroyed servants with a thought. Went inside with non living things. The necromancer is like Xio. Skeleton face. Dead face. Gloomtoes does a DC 42 Arcane Lock to lock the castle. - Maestro - Ka'ira - Xio - Erathe - Snowflake - Reona - Thraid - Hill - Declan - Galadim Servants' entrance and servants' door - DC 42 for all of them. I send a message to [[Zeethrix]] to ask her to come meet us. They climb down from the trees. Nobody disturbed them. The crypt is cleaner. [[Vault of the Nine]]. Not disturbed, but we put Arcane Lock on the door. We go to the [[Manhole Room]] and go into the trap door. It takes us a while, and help from the ghostly servants, but we do it. It is a circular room with manacles and chains on the floor, as if for prisoners. There are humanoid prisoners. This room hasn't been opened for a while and we can smell it. It's an ubilet - it's some sort of solitary prison without any light, food, water. We go to where Tar'gath's spire was. There was rubble there, but a path has been cleared. The rubble wasn't cleared by the servants, though. There are signs that something has passed through the hallway leading to Tar'gath's door, but it wasn't the servants. There are bits of rotten flesh and broken bone that seem to have fallen. There's tufts of hair and there is a stench of decay. But it's not from us. We go into Tar'gath's door. There are more bones and flesh here. We're searching for Galadim and spend two hours looking through the rubble, but we don't find him. :(
