# 61_20210411 Reaching the Chasm Floor
## Session Summary
We explored the tunnel that the aberrations had come from and discovered that it leads up towards the city. Despite Ka'ira's amputated arm, we decided to press ahead to try and rescue Reona. We arrived at the floor of the chasm thanks to Snowflake slowly carrying each of us down, but not without getting hit by lightning a few times in the process. The chasm floor is a mushroom forest, with small crystals through which lightning arcs sporadically. We came across a small clearing, where a pile of detritus, including a staff and some ancient armor, suddenly began to move and grow in front of us. ^summary

## Log
Tunnel has collapsed in some places. It doesn't seem to be well-travelled. It seems to lead slightly upward. It's completely dark. It's like a sewer tunnel that has collapsed.
Lydia/Maestro sees another earthmote nearby, where some earth seems to have collapsed onto it.
Some bats were changed after they got hit by the lightning. One got an additional wing, and another one got an additional claw.
Maestro and Snowflake return with shimmering lightning under their skin. Snowflake begins to bring Maestro down to the chasm floor. Maestro sees gigantic mushrooms in a forest. The mushrooms are about 20 feet tall. There are crystals on the floor, on the walls. The lightning is going from crystal to crystal when it strikes. The crystals are embedded into the floor. There are some ruins of buildings from before they collapsed into the chasm. The crystals are mostly translucent blue. They light up as the lightning passes through them like a current or circuit.
Snowflake carries Ka'ira down next. They both get hit by lightning.
Gloomtoes is carried down next.
Xio next.
Erathe last.
Magic from Maestro's axe is malevolent. It's cursed. But so far it hasn't done anything detrimental (yet). It is wickedly sharp.
I have 1 lightning charge. 1d6
Short rest!
All the crystals around us are coin-sized. They are embedded in the floor. We all had to do a Wisdom check. Ka'ira, Maestro, and Xio got 11. Our eyes pulse with blue fire as a mental and physical change occur. -2 penalty to initiative and Will Defense. +1 to attacks with psychic keyword.
Where the tops of the mushrooms end, the fog begins.
Ka'ira gets hit by the lightning again and feels the lightning bubble up inside her. She feels lighter, somehow. She notices that she got hit diagonally.
We get to a clearing in the mushroom forest - there are no mushrooms, just decomposing organic matter and ruins of buildings. There is a silvery staff, like a quarterstaff and ancient, rusted armor in the middle of this pile of detritus. It's a 50-foot clearing.
The crystals and the mushrooms themselves are very slightly magical. The patch of detritus is like a puddle that is 10 feet at its longest side.
We approach the detritus. It ripples and shudders. Initiative! The staff and armor are stuck to it. Parts of creatures are stuck to it too.
20-foot tall pile of mushrooms.
