# 62_20210417 The Shambling Mound ## Session Summary We defeated the shambling mound, retrieving a jewelry case from its carcass. Tiny tendrils engulf it. Tendrils are like leeches trying to attack to the skin of the prey and grow into it. At the start of the turn of engulfed prey, they take 10 damage. The shambling mound heals from the damage. Regenerates 5. Absorbs fire and lightning damage Round 1 - Monster check (Nature) - This used to be a swamp plant, but something gave them semblance of life - it made them able to seek out food. They are slow and rarely pursue their prey, but they are ravenous. They thrive on lightning strikes. It's called a shambling mound. - Not undead - Knack - Action: Sacred Flame to discharge lightning strike Perception check. We hear animals or deranged people laughing. It's very faint. Round 2 - Move to within 5 - Minor: Extract name got his truename - Action: Sacred Flame -2 AC to my spells Eraithe's AC is normally 21, but it can be 24 with an aegis Round 3 (+2) - Minor: Healing Word - Action: Sacred Flame Snowflake breathes cold air and deals damage, then causes vulnerable 5 to all damage (save ends). We hear the noises disappear - we don't hear them anymore. Snowflake's AC is 17. Round 4 (+3) - Action: Sacred Flame - Minor: HW - Free action: healing surge Sounds of other creatures grows again. They're still faint. Round 5 (+4) - Action: Sacred Flame - Sounds of other creatures remains. Detect magic: ground, mushrooms, shambling mound is still radiating magic, staff On the breastplate of the armor that the shambling mound holds is a crest of something that looks like blue fire. Not magical. Metal jewelry case (palm-sized). An octagon. It's not magical and a bit rusted. It's like a bottle, but metal. There is a symbol on it - a mark of a noble house that still exists now. It's one of our allies - it's allied to the [[Graycloaks|Greycloaks]]. [[House Shadowgust]]. Current representative of this house is Bartholomew. They offered to head the shipmaking guild. - I took it for Madame Rosene I'm able to find the ruins of a building that is cylindrical, lying on its side in several pieces, and it looks like a bit of a tube/tunnel. It looks like an old tower. [[Tower of Zofaris]] There were only a few people who had towers in old Neverwinter. Other than the [[Shard of Night]], there was only one other tower - one of a wizard. 2pm I still have two skulls left in my bag.
