# 63_20210418 Freeing Invidoo ## Session Summary In the ruins of the wizard's tower, we found an imp still trapped in a summoning circle. He helped us find a scroll of Dispel Magic, and promised to help us find other magical items if we freed him. Everyone but Ka'ira has a -2 to will. We come across a sphere in the wizard's tower - a dome of 10 feet in diameter. It's a semicircle. It's almost transparent. There is a symbol on the floor where the sphere is. In the middle of the floor is a normal-sized rabbit. The wizard who once lived here was human. According to legend, in the time before the Spellplague, there was an archmage who lived in Neverwinter who was not affiliated with the [[The Order of the Many-Starred Cloaks]] but was on good terms with [[Nash Alagondar]]. This wizard's name is [[Zofaris Kez]]. He was a wizard who was known for his summoning magic, and he mostly summoned things from the elemental planes. He specialized in restraining magic. He was also called "Archmage of Chains" because he was so good at restraining magic. He also served as the high magus of Neverwinter during Nasher's time. This looks like a summoning circle. Abjuration sigils on it. 29 I got the truename of the rabbit The fur of a rabbit changes into a leathery, dark red bat wing. It is small, smaller than Gloomtoes. It has a tail with a stinger at the end. It has tiny white horns on its head and white fangs. This is an imp. Imps are usually the lowest form of devils. They are used as familiars by evil wizards. They are devious, mischievous, and self-serving. But like all devils, they never lie. They never break their word. Maestro knows that imps don't have the power to make a Faustian bargain (to trade one act for another), so they have to rely on their wits. History has shown that imps can turn invisible to spy and change forms. Imps want to collect souls and make bargains to reach the top of the hierarchy. The imp speaks Supernal. Zofaris summoned him and left him there. He says he knows where the spell is that might free him. He tells us about a room with a false wall that can be opened with a command word (he tells us). We make perception checks to look for the spell room. Maestro realizes the imp's instructions are outdated, but he finds out which room and wall it is. We say the command word ("platypus", hehe). A single scroll with a ring around it. Dispel Magic (at your level). [[Invidoo]] Spell storing, reflecting, enhancing. Scrying. Invidoo describes another place. We find it. A slab rises from the floor and reveals an orb on a pillow. Light green crystal orb that is 5 inches wide and undamaged. The orb gives a bonus to Arcana checks when used for scrying, and it also increases the range of scrying by 100 squares. Invidoo and all imps are on the side of masters. 1. Don't hurt any of us. 2. Don't help the enemy. 3. Don't give anyone information about us. Why did Zofaris imprison you? Zofaris summoned him and talked to him for days about how he would use Invidoo. Then one day, Zofaris just didn't show up. He's going to try to tell us where things are.
