- Alignment determines the principles that a character lives by, and consists of two axes:
- attitude towards order
- predisposition towards good or evil
- In the 4th Edition, the alignment chart was simplified:
- **Lawful Good**: civilization and order
- **Good:** freedom and kindness
- **Unaligned**: Having no alignment; not taking a stand
- **Evil**: tyranny and hatred
- **Chaotic Evil**: entropy and destruction
- You should choose Good or Lawful Good-- otherwise your party will not be happy!
