The right side of her head is shaved to a buzz cut. The rest is swung over to the other side and reaches to her lower back. You can see that the last few inches are dark black. The rest, however, is blue, and blue in a way that doesn't seem artificial. It's almost as if her hair started growing in blue a few years ago... Perhaps most striking is that each eye is encircled by black ink in what looks like a pattern of fire, meeting her eyebrows and extending to her hairline.     Some of her hair is in dreads, in knots. This is her "ritual book". She's developed a system of remembering what certain knots do. Xiomara has piercing blue eyes. Despite her height, she walks hunched over, and the way she holds herself suggests many a night spent hunched over parchment by candlelight. She is an eternal pessimist and takes a little too much pleasure at the thought of a battle. Sometimes she sees blood in random places. (a la Winter!) She finds it hard to make friends but is at her most brilliant when she is in this form. Daenerys' eyes are gray. She walks with her head held high, flirtatious and friendly to a fault. She is charming, positive, and liked by everyone. She is gregarious and insightful, and quick to help someone in need. Both were devout clerics who worshipped Tyr, using their wealth to champion the righteous and condemn the wicked. One day, when Xio was a little girl, she was playing with her little sister by the fire when the flames called her. Mesmerized, she stared at the fire until shapes took place. She could hear nothing and see nothing else. It wasn't until much later, when her sister stopped screaming that she realized that the entire room was on fire. Her parents were devastated. Torn between their sense of justice for Xio's little sister and love for Xio, they abandoned Xio rather than put her to death. Xio grew up on the streets, wandering from city to city, stumbling her way through her newfound powers, afraid of all flames and yet unable to look away from them. When she was 17, it happened again. A bonfire had been lit in celebration of a holy day dedicated to a god, and she stopped in her tracks. In the fire was the shape of a dragon. Then it morphed into a lion. Then a man. She drew closer, and with her fledgling power she touched the flames tentatively. The flames rushed into her, singeing her veins and setting her soul on fire. For an instant, she saw things more clearly than she had ever seen, heard the whispers of people around her. The next second, the flame was gone, but her mind would never recover again. From that point on, she became Xionerys, half Xiomara and half Daenerys - her sister. Panicked and unable to deal with what she thought was her sister inside her head, she went to a witch who listened to her story solemnly, put her hands on Xio's head, and pulled them away immediately with a shriek. "Poor child," she whispered. "A demon has cursed you, and only finding a home will heal your mind."
