Devils are creatures of Lawful Evil alignment that reside in [[The Nine Hells]]. They hate the chaotic nature of demons. ## Defenses - Most are resistant to fire damage - Sometimes resistant to poison or lightning - When they are killed outside of the Nine Hells, they disappear and are reformed in Hell, 99 years later (and usually in a lower form) ## Hierarchy Devils are organized into a hierarchy. From lowest to highest: - soulworms - Souls, and used as currency in the Hells - lemurs: formless, shapeless blobs - either promoted from being a soulworm or demoted from a higher-ranked devil - Imps - Archdevils (nine of them) - Lord of Archdevils Devils can go up the ladder by convincing mortals to turn lawful evil.
