I tried to attack him with a [[Daunting Light (power)]] and he dodged it. He is a mercenary, part of the [[Mintarn mercenaries]] ## Mind control Sarthos is being mind-controlled by [[Sabine]]; specifically, [[The First Blade|her sword]]. He said that she said the following just before she controlled his mind: > You're about to die, faithless swordsman. I'm about to give you purpose. He seemed free of Maugwraithe's control in [[110_20220213 Sarthos is Free]]. ## Appearance - Scar on left eye - When he talks, his voice is very soft - Carries himself with the air of someone proficient with his longsword - Moves with military precision (kind of like knights of Helmshold) - obviously trained ## Class - Unsure, but he can use a longsword. - [[Fighter]]? - [[Paladin]]? - [[Ranger]]? - [[Warlord]]? - [[Avenger]]? - [[Barbarian]]? - [[Warden]]? - [[Ardent]], [[Battlemind]] - Power source is [[Psionic (power source)]] though, and [[Gloomtoes]] did not mention it like he did for [[Maestro]]. We learned that his real name is Sarthos in [[31_20201212 Sarthos asks for help]]. He claims that [[Sabine]] controls his mind using her sword. Her power can call to him from anywhere. She can't watch him all the time, but after she's pulled him to her, she can compel him to tell her everything that he knows. I detected that he has a magical sword, but he says he's "attached" to it. He serves [[Tempus]]. I failed on a [[Truenaming (feat)]] check for him. He claims he's "a humble duelist". According to [[Mallark]] in [[53_20210220 Licking wounds and befriending mercenaries]], he is a lieutenant in [[Sabine]]'s army and is not mean to the mercenaries. ## Personality Sarthos is very attached to his own sword, whom he calls Hauteclaire. He refers to the sword as a "she".
