# Tyr
Tyr is one of the oldest [[Deities]] in existence, but he is not one of the [[Lords of creation]]. He is part of the rank of gods called [[Celestial gods]].
## Ideals
Tyr stands for justice. He protects the weak.
## Tyr's absence
He was originally a member of the triad of the gods of good, together with [[Torm]] and [[ttrpgs/Order of the Wandering Mind/Ilmater]]. However, when [[Cyric]] forced [[Tyr]] to fight [[Helm (god)]] and Tyr actually did, he voluntarily relinquished his godhood and all his powers, believing that it was no longer appropriate to be the god of justice.
In the few years when Tyr was absent, the god [[Torm]] took over being the God of Justice for a few years. This is why priests of [[Torm]] are in the [[Hall of Justice]].
[[ttrpgs/Order of the Wandering Mind/Bahamut]] stepped up to become one of the gods of good, but [[ttrpgs/Order of the Wandering Mind/Ilmater]] left when Tyr killed Helm.
Tyr was eventually convinced to rejoin the gods and regained his powers. [[Neverwinter]] never stopped worshipping him. So now there are three gods of good: Tyr, Bahamut, and Thorm.
