## Session Summary

> The party made their way into the town, where the people worshipped some sort of Spirit of the Lake. Two members of the Righteous Brand, William Hunter and Railey, hired them to stake out the lake that night.

> The party went to the Clan Hammer Inn to clean up, where they met the owner, Sylvia Hogdancer, and her nephew Finneas. They also met an older man named Olyffe.

> They then went on a stakeout by the lake shrine, during which they were attacked by four giant crabs. During the ensuing battle, a fog of unknown origin crept up on them, and after they'd killed the crabs, they realised that the offerings by the shrine had disappeared. They discovered some tracks that they followed to the Seidel Family Farm, where they saw four more giant crabs being kept in cages. As they crept closer to the house, Promise accidentally alerts two farmhands and a mastiff on patrol. ^summary

## Lulu's notes
- After almost drowning in the ferry journey, we fight a giant snake. [[Wally]] butchers it for meat. Then we make our way into the village, the people of which seem to believe in a [[Spirit of the Lake]].
- We meet a [[The Righteous Brand|Righteous Brand]] duo, [[William Hunter]] and [[Railey]] who tell us they would pay 10GP per person if we could stake out the lake tonight. They are "too busy with the war effort", which is why they can't help themselves. He pays us 5GP each in advance, then sends us to [[The Clam Hammer Inn]] to clean up; there, Wally gives the snake steaks to the cook.
- We meet the owner, [[Sylvia Hogdancer]] and her slightly-can't-be-bothered nephew, [[Finneas Hogdancer]], the latter of whom [[Wally]] meets when going around the back to find someone to stable his horse ([[Matthew]]). We book three rooms (Milla shares with [[Promise]]), dry off, eat some clam dishes and spend some time getting to know each other over ale.
- We hear Sylvia chatting to an older man with grey-blond hair called [[Olyffer Gravesteel|Olyffe]] who appeared to be somewhat hard of hearing. [[Bert]] and [[Celeste ]] are the halfling couple that died in our ferry accident, they were distance relations to Sylvia.
- After drinks, [[Railey]] comes in to let us know that we should soon start staking out the dock as most nights the [[Spirit of the Lake]] appears between 10PM and just after midnight. She also tells us we can find her or William in the middle of town the next day, of they would come find us.
- We set up our watch by the lake and get attacked by four giant crabs, and manage to dispatch them. [[Kalani]] killed two, though took some damage herself, while Milla and Wally finished off the other two. In the fog something shoved [[Reya]] a few feet forward and a burst of earth flew up in the air.
- During this fight, the shrine gets enveloped in fog and at the end of it we find that most of the "loot" has been taken. The earth around it seems disturbed, and [[Xenia Palebender|Xenia]] spots a set of three footprints heading south that we begin to follow.
- I've acquired a pair of blue earrings with the symbol of [[Sehanine|The Moonweaver]] (leftover where the treasure had been). We leave the rest of the offerings.
- As we're walking we see a blue light bobbing in and out of view, and come across [[The Seidel Family Farm]]. We spot four more crabs being kept in a cages in the stables. Xenia piles up earth in front of them to prevent an escape.
- There are lights on outside and a faint blue one in the upstairs of the house. As we're making our way around the house to look closer, attempting to stealth, we see two farmhands and a mastiff on patrol. Promise stumbles in the dark, and the noise alerts them of our presence.
- After an attempt to pretend we ere simply lost, they draw their swords.

## Andy's Notes
You all made your way to [[The Clam Hammer Inn]], where Wally gave the snake steaks to the cook, you met the owner, [[Sylvia Hogdancer]] and her, slightly can't be bothered nephew, [[Finneas Hogdancer]]. You booked three rooms, dried off your clothes, at some variants of clam dishes, and got to know each other. You heard Sylvia chatting to an older man with grey-blond hair called [[Olyffer Gravesteel|Olyffe]] who appeared to be somewhat hard of hearing. You also learned that the two halflings that drowned on your ferry were distance relations to Sylvia.
[[The Righteous Brand]] guard, [[Railey]], came in to let you know you should soon start staking out the dock and that most nights the spirit of the lake appeared between 10pm and just after midnight. She said you would either find them in the middle of the town the next day or they would come to find you.
As you ventured out to the docks to where the shrine is, you started to see a fog cloud forming and saw a watery figure on the lake and strange noises coming from somewhere. Four giant crabs emerged from the lake and started attacking. Kalani killed two, though took some damage herself, while Milla and Wally finished off the other two. In the fog something shoved Reya a few feet forward and a burst of earth flew up in the air.
After the battle after the fog lifted, Promise healed Kalani. You searched the scene and found just a few leftover trinkets and coins along with food offerings that were left untouched or were knocked over. Apart from a pair of turquoise earrings fashioned into the symbol of [[Sehanine]], the Moon Weaver, that Milla took, you decided to leave the remaining offerings.
Then, without pausing to make crab cakes, you discovered the tracks of three humans - or humanoids - heading south. You also saw a faint blue-white light bobbing along in the dark in the distance. All of these led towards [[The Seidel Family Farm]].
On approach, you saw more crabs in cages in the stables. Xenia piled up earth in front of the cages to prevent any escapes. You stealthily scouted the outer wall of the property and spotted a Mastiff at the back door. Unfortunately Promise stumbled in the dark and her scale mail made a loud noise alerting the Mastiff and two farmhands who challenged you. After an attempt to pretend you were simply lost, they drew their swords and that’s where we ended the session.
