# [[035_20220118 We never know when Reya is naked]] ## Session Summary > [!abstract] [[035_20220118 We never know when Reya is naked]] > Some human kids snuck into Reya's bath and stole some of her things, including the key she'd gotten from the dead halfling corpse. We all took off after them, chasing them to an oak tree, where I cast Sleep on them. We took back Reya's stuff. When the kids woke up, they said that there was a halfling guy named Dylan Candlewood who paid them to steal things sometimes. They'd seen him with the key once, in the swamp, and thought maybe he'd give them coin for it. We realized Dylan was the halfling guy whose body we'd seen by the swamp. > Reya put her clothes back on, because apparently she can just be naked all the time and we wouldn't know it (thanks to Disguise Self). The rest of us take baths. I Send to Piro. He tells me that some men have come and there was a fight. The next day, I continued the conversation and he said that some Elves in the Grove are thinking of leaving for Port Damali. because "Quajath's followers" are stirring. > I realized that the letter is glowing in the darkness, and Xenia deciphers it with _comprehend languages_. He said that it talks about more slaves being delivered from Shadycreek Run and brought to the Pilgrim's Trial Steps. Xenia revealed some things about his father and how he grew up. > We got to Zadash! It was HUGE. Reya knew exactly where she was and who everyone was. We went to see her childhood friend Kalani, in the Cross-spikes tavern near the Pentamarket. Kalani and her many uncles seemed to have a trick going that involved her fighting and winning and losing on purpose. Apparently Reya is not Reya's real name! > Kalani asked if anyone wanted to fight, and Wally did! [[Uma]] said that there are sometimes kids there begging for food. Some human kids took Reya's clothes. Wally is drinking [[Trostenwald]] ale (he knows it's famous for that) and invited me to drink it too. Uma said they might be "The Lighthood kids". They go by the [[Keystone Pub]]. We ask someone and they say that kids sometimes play at the back of the pub, where there is a tree. It's mid-afternoon. We go around to the tree. There is a big oak tree that is half dead (bark pulled away, algae hanging from dead branches that are almost down to the ground). I cast Sleep in that direction. A 10-year-old boy and a girl are fast asleep ([[Elena Lightwood]] and [[Cory Lightwood]]). They're really grubby. Mousy blond, filthy faces, dirty blond hair. She is barefoot. They've made a den out of this tree. Behind, it looks like it's been hit by lightning. Girl has a notched dagger and a key. "Cory, stay still." She says sometimes there's a man who pays for information and goods on out-of-towners. He works for nasty guys. "[[Dylan Candlewood]]" is the guy. He's usually in the swamp. He works for people in [[ttrpgs/Temporary White Circle/Zadash|Zadash]]lant that's pretty valuable if you give it to the druid. "Sometimes you find valuable things in the marsh". They saw Dylan take this key and put it around his neck. [[Xenia Palebender]] lost his father when he was young. He sympathizes with them a bit. Elena is the girl's name. I tell them to question whom they follow. We go back to [[The Drowned Nest]]. Wally asks Uma about Dylan Candlewood. He doesn't speak much, he reeks of swamp mud, goes for weeks, stays a night, and then leaves again. Edelmaster is [[Julienne Droogba]]'s title. It's a bit like a lawless place. Xenia: His father was an archaeologist like him, but he died. His mother died as well. He grew up in a library and that's why he is the way he is. He was a scribe. He thinks he heard the name of a librarian, a male, in [[The Platinum Mines]]. He was old - Xenia still thinks he is alive. He was like a father figure to Xenia. Long rest! 10 Cuersaar Wally asks Uma how to get to Zadash. It's straight south. Tiefling paid her 4g (8 sp each) I cast Aid and Vigilant Blessing and we head off! I see in the sky, in the distance, something that looks very large. It's a long way away. There are no settlements on the way to Zadash, but this is a pretty well-travelled road. Sent to Piro: `In 25 words, where are you? Are you okay? I'm going to Zadash.` Piro sent back: `I'm okay. A group have left for the Menagerie Coast, for Port Damali. We're thinking of leaving. Quajath followers are stirring.` [[ttrpgs/Temporary White Circle/Quajath]]! Whodat. I remember stories of Quajath burrowing beneath the Pallid Grove (that's how it became so blighted). He was the minion of Torog. Long rest. 11 Cuersaar. We see a trio of spiky peaks towards the afternoon. We[[ttrpgs/Temporary White Circle/Zadash]]he skyline of [[ttrpgs/Temporary White Circle/Zadash|Zadash]] on the horizo[[ttrpgs/Temporary White Circle/Zadash]] home. Wally and Xenia are used to it too. This is the biggest city I have ever seen!!! Triangular shape of the city (from our perspective). Ramshackle tents/hovels in front. 50-foot high walls. Large stretch that leads to the southern gate. We find a tavern near the Pentamarket. ![[exandya-cross-spikes.png]] We hear cheers from outside. Tiefling and Xenia look around for [[Braedon Easterling]], who was supposed to bring their cart here. Tiefling wants to ask about Kalani's uncle? Apparently there was something wrong with him last time they saw Kalani. Human male, brown shirt, nice looking. Shouts "Reya!" when he sees her. He is Kalani's uncle (Marius) on her mother's side (Kalani is a female half-orc). "Are you Reya today?" Apparently he knows Reya turns tricks sometimes. "We're paying off our debts." They have some special merchandise out the back sometimes. A shipment from a certain organization did not arrive and now they (Marius and Kalani) owe them money. [[Marius Almar]]. Kalani went on a bit of an adventure with the TWC before I joined them. I re-cast Aid and Vigilant Blessing. There is a fighting pit, and Kalani is in the pit! She is a half-orc and is fighting. She already has a black eye. Reya recognizes another one of her uncles - he looks hipster, recognizes Reya. People are giving him money. "Bets are closed at the moment, Reya." [[Franz]] is Kalani's other uncle. Kalani wins. Reya said: "They're not looking for Reya." Reya is not her real name?! Stuff we've learned - We never know when she's naked - Reya is not her real name - She knows everyone in Zadash - Kalani has a lot of uncles - She likes for her friends to hit her. Kalani and Reya used to race each other naked. Kalani asked whether the fish had been delivered. The ice? Wally wants to fight in the pit for some reason. I try to cast Bless but people aren't allowed to do that, apparently! (Or at least not if they get caught.)
