As a tavern brawl broke out immediately afterwards, Xenia cast _hypnotic pattern_ to let us extricate ourselves from the situation without any injuries. We headed upstairs with Kalani and ended up playing Truth or Dare as a drinking game. That turned more into "Truth or Truth" as everyone answered at least one question about themselves, and we all got to know each other better. > > We took a long rest. The next day, we found Braedon Easterling, the guy we'd hired to bring the cart to Zadash, and Crownsguard Douche himself, Floyd Hemsworth. They had just arrived. Braedon told us he and his group been attacked, and Floyd had come to their rescue. Floyd flirted with the tiefling, who this time did not respond in kind (perhaps because of the night she spent sharing a room with Wally), and told us that his mother was throwing a fundraiser that might include some people that might be able to give us information, such as people from the Cobalt Soul library. Tiefling asked him about putting in a word for us at the Cobalt Soul, and he said his mother might be inviting someone from there tomorrow night. Floyd confirmed that Floella is his mother. He says she's got more time and money than others and tries to do good with it. For the last year or so, she's been doing some searching for someone. (Someone to do with Floyd's uncle, [[Elias Volcain]].) The cart has arrowheads on it. The top plank of the cart has an axe smash on it. The paint work is raggedy. It's obviously been used as a shield on one side. There are massive claw marks. With a few more gold, Braedon can patch it up. He says he needs to give something to "[[Beth]]". [[Tolon]]'s wife, presumably. Kalani says [[ttrpgs/Temporary White Circle/The Gentleman]] can be charming. He is ruthless and rich, and he holds a lot of store on trust. She wouldn't pick a fight with the Gentleman. [[The Evening Nip]] is at the beginning of [[The Innerstead Sprawl]]. It's early morning. It's closed up at the moment. There are a couple guys standing outside. One of them is a spindly guy, and the other is a thicker human guy. It's about 09:00. One of them has daggers sheathed on both sides of his cloak. We say we want to speak to the Gentleman and they let us in. Inside there is a huge candelabra. It's deserted, except for a barman.
