We were allowed to scope out the entrances and exits before the party began. The guests started to trickle in, and Lady Floella herself came to the party with her annoying blue dog, Monsieur Gerard. ^summary ## Recap of last session ![[041_20220308 Cleaning up good for the heist#^summary]] --- ## Log We go to get the transcribed books from [[Library of the Cobalt Soul - Zadash]]. We are greeted by [[Pandaras]], the Doormaster. He is an old man. [[Archivist Adon Zeenoth]] gives us the copies of the notes. We tell him we'll accept the job. Zeenoth will give us 1-2 days, and he will arrange for transport and someone to meet us. He says that we should prepare for the dangerous journey. There are corrupt creatures in [[Veluthil Forest]] and corrupt people from [[Shadycreek Run]]. Everyone in the empire is heading that way, so we should be careful. He thinks we should prepare by getting things that would keep us from dying. We will be teleporting, so don't eat anything before then. We can't take our cart, either. If transport is required on the other end, it will be provided. They have sent out 5 parties in the last 6 months, and they have not returned. 3 are confirmed dead. First port of call is [[Nogvurot]]. Then travel north to [[Shadycreek Run]], which is outside of [[The Dwendalian Empire]] lands. It is a lawless place. Then, travel north to [[Molaesmyr]] through [[Veluthil Forest]]. [[Pin Dunstorm]] will meet us in Nogvurot. He is a dwarf and member of the Cobalt Soul, a particular order. We need to meet him early morning on 15 Cuersaar, around 10 or 11 am. He will try to do research for us. It is 13:30. We go back to [[The Crossed Pikes]] and Reya disguises Wally. Walter von Kraft. He makes cheese. [[Wally]]: If there is anyone on the list with the last name `Damarag`, then we should destroy the book or destroy the name. [[Karmilla Duskbloom|Tiefling]]: Runechildren are persecuted ("time moves differently _there_") and several people tried to take her and she ran. She was gone for a while and when she came back, she was here. She was stuck somewhere else, in The Feywild. I cast Aid on Reya, Xenia, me. If it goes south, meet up at [[The Pentamarket]]. We head off! We go to [[The Tri-Spires]]. It gets its name from three giant towers. There is a gate. We see [[The Crownsguard]] there that look like their spears and shields have never seen battle, like they're more for show. They are just in front of these portculisses that open up towards [[The Pentamarket]]. They are both male: dark-haired. We mention and describe [[Floyd Hemsworth]] and they let us in. We see mansions in this rich district of Zadash. We stop someone and he says we have to go to [[The Silken Terrace]]. We go there, and everything is picture perfect. Manicured lawns, statuesque statues, cobblestones are in fan-shaped patterns. The Crownsguard don't really like Floyd either. But I also don't like them, so that's confusing. "Go get Old Misery." Entrance: lampposts. Right: Spiral rose garden, curved front of what looks like it could be the ballroom, but there are some bushes in front of the tall windows for privacy. We see [[Mr. Whitebristle|a male human]] with gray hair, neatly combed and cut. About 65. Dressed in formal black suit, formal frock, white gloves. He calls for [[Martin]], a young human with a striped waistcoat, well-groomed. I left a mace with Martin. Martin shows us around. We go into [[The Hemsworth Mansion#Atrium|a massive atrium]] with marble floors. Path is flanked with columns that leads to the center, where there is a fountain and a statue in the middle. Miniature trees like bonsais, exotic plants, large painting of a dragon in battle flanked by Dwendalian soldiers. It's a statue of Pelor. Only one set of doors. Servants with white-stockinged legs, red jackets with gold trim. Double doors open to [[The Hemsworth Mansion#Ballroom|the Ballroom]]. - 5 tables with 10 seats each, 1 table with six seats like judges' tables. - Enormous chandelier made of larger crystals. - We all look a bit younger and more beautiful - Where the auction will be. - Only exits are at the back Single-storey building. Right side: Hemsworth quarters, left side: [[The Hemsworth Mansion#Formal Dining Room|Hemsworth dining area]]. [[Monsieur Gerard]] is the name of the dog of [[Lady Floella]]. He is from Marquet. He gets fed the finest steak on a silver platter. Trellisses in a sort of zen garden ([[The Hemsworth Mansion#Zen Garden of Pensive Remembrance]]) with a pond and large fish. There is a pergoda. There is an old dwarf that is carving away at some of the stones. Xenia goes exploring when he's left to his devices. He finds family paintings: - Beautiful blond woman and human man that looks a bit like her. - Floyd and older man in military attire I ask Reya to look for a key and to distract the Lady if I'm playing with her dog. Guests start to trickle in. Floyd comes in, and he seems to be wearing some sort of sword. I notice there aren't any half-elves (except Reya). Some other people stand out: - Male, unknown race, dark brown skin, well-dressed with a luscious robe. His skin has a strange texture, like there's a bit of dust that falls from him when he moves. He has short, black, kinked hair and a square jaw. He has a presence, and people are gathering around him. He's trying to appear social, but he's not a bag of laughs either. [[Headmaster Oremid Hass]] - Red hair (similar to Reya's ginger hair), woman, less flouncy, more practical two-piece. She looks like she might be ready to fight. Female human. [[Redheaded Fighter]] - Old men, duchess types-- one that is Dame Edna-like. - A [[Aznar]] is singing and playing the lute. ![[Pasted image 20220315224935.png]] [[Lady Floella Volcain Hemsworth|Lady Floella Hemsworth]], early 40s, very beautiful woman. She seems like she's come from [[The Menagerie Coast]]. She has darker skin, a ruby signet ring. She is carrying, in a handbag, a blue-coloured dog (like a Maltese dog). [[Monsieur Gerard]]. ![[exandya-monsieur-gerard.png]] He has a locket or brooch around his neck. The man with dark-coloured skin looks over - he's on my table, and he goes over to the dog. He just seems really excited. [[Cressida Bell]] is the name of the young lady that is next to Floyd and in the tiefling's table. Dragonborn replacement emcee (bard). He is a performer. He will be standing in for [[Tankard Thorntree]], who is apparently suffering from food poisoning. Children come in singing the national anthem of the Dwendalian Empire, led by a large, muscular woman. %%Reya recognizes her as [[Frau Peitsch]].%% They each have a bundle that they leave on a table by the side. They are [[The Righteous Brand]] soldiers' uniforms. Lady Floella is super patronizing and always calls them "her children". The kids look pretty scared.
