I cast a few sendings, including to Floyd, who didn't really seem to know where he was. We pass the night near a tower, and talked to each other within a zone of truth before we slept. > > During my watch with Wally, we saw something undead that seemed to be carrying a light. It turned out to be a Will-'o-wisp that we dispatched pretty quickly. I harvest the wyvern and cut up the stinger. I extract two vials of poison and give one to Misty. She says we should let her know if we go to [[Veluthil Forest]] because her clan ([[The Night Back Clan]]) can help us and not harm us. Not many elves help them. Many of them believe the elves were the reason for the corruption. They are followers of Melora. She takes a wyvern's claw and tells us to give it to her clan and tell them her name - that should grant us a conversation at least. Wally gives it to the tiefling to put in her bag. She and [[Pin Dunstorm]] are a bit frosty with each other. Neither of them says anything. Later, Pin says that he has heard of the Night Back Clan. Veluthil Forest is what the Savalirwood used to be called. The tabaxi decided to stay there and blamed the elves and the residents of [[Uthodurn]] for the corruption. Nobody completely knows - some think it may be a powerful artifact, a vestige of [[The Divergence]] that is leaking throughout the forest. Maybe there's something underneath, devouring the roots. Pin is 132. He was not alive when the corruption started, which was during the time of [[The Calamity]]. 585 PD. It was about 300 years ago. ![[twc-dunrock-mountains2.png]] I recast *Aid*. Pin points out [[The Quannah Breach]]. Pin points out a good place to camp. There is a Hunter's Tower and on the other side of that, there's been digging. There are hoof prints and a strongbox. There are things that are round and flat, pushed into the dirt. They are coins that don't have King Dwendal on it. They appear to be gold. There is a single set of human footprints and mule hoof prints. We will need to meet up with our contact in Shadycreek Run. #sending to [[Floyd Hemsworth|Floyd]]. He's not dead. There is a hag's coven beneath the ??? I didn't hear. There are creatures in the Savalirwood that are mutated and corrupted. Pin knows that the Shadycreek Run are run by criminal families. He has a contact he knows only be description - a half orc. They're going to ask if he's interested in a job. We should go to [[Caes Mosor]] if Pin dies. Reya said [[Elias Volcain]] was dating someone who got him drunk and robbed him. She thinks Elias doesn't have anything to do with him. Pin climbs onto the tower. Wally: What did you do while you were Etherion? - He was the heir of the Damurag family. - He started having dreams and his parents sent him to the insane asylum. He escaped. He got put into the dark a lot. While taking watch, Wally and I see something spectral, something undead carrying or casting a light. We ignore it and I recast the Hut, and then Wally and the tiefling go back into the tower. They suddenly just see a bright light behind them. It's some sort of floating ball thing. ![[twc-savalirwood-will-o-wisps.png]] - Round 1 - Wally wakes everyone up and tells Milla to go into the Hut. - Milla misses an Ray of Frost. - Thing shocks Wally. 24 damage! Hovers just out of melee reach, about 10-15 feet. - Round 2 - Pin dashes in - Reya - Me - BA: Harness Divine Power to regain a spell slot (level 2) - 2nd level Cure Wounds on Wally - Milla attempts to do a Chromatic Orb and then goes into the hut - Thing attempts to go towards the hut, triggering opportunity attacks from Pin and Reya, but they both miss. - Round 3 - Pin - Misses two attacks - Hits with bonus action. 7 bludgeoning damage - Wally - Casts command and orders it to stop. - Xenia - Deals 12 damage with magic missile and kills it. The thing drops a ring that is black and seems scorched. It's got some sort of patterning. Reya isn't sure what it's made of. It's black and shiny. Xenia can't seem to Identify it. It doesn't seem to be obviously magical.
