# [[060_20220816 His last quest]] ## Session Summary > [!tldr] [[060_20220816 His last quest]] > We examined the body on the northern side of the pool, and saw that it was of a female humanoid with tattoos of Torog and Quajath who, judging from her notebook, seemed to have potentially been magically coerced into joining a cult. It didn't seem like she knew how she'd come to join, and wrote about being afraid of battle. > > Milla put the Evening Moon on the groove in the stone for it, and the Morning Star began to rise from the pool. As Wally took it, it seemed to glow with a fire that brightened up the immediate vicinity and made it a little less corrupted than it seemed before. > > We settled down for a long rest. I read about Betrayer Gods, and Reya read the journal of the fallen cultist. When Reya went to wake up Pin for his watch, he turned on us! He'd turned into an undead zombie creature! I tried to save him, but couldn't figure out how. In the end, we had to kill him, and we made him a funeral pyre. > > We also questioned Reya about her newfound allegiance to a queen none of us had met. She admitted that she was getting some abilities from Lolth, the Spider Queen. With Pin buried and a Sending cast to Zeenoth to inform him of Pin's death and to ask him to research Grovelthrash, we took a long rest. ^summary %% <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/Pnwueq5e0pw" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe> %% --- ## Recap ![[059_20220809 When the evening moon has set#^summary]] --- ## Log ![[twc-body.png]] It's a female humanoid with a woody circlet on her head. She has a tattoo of a hideous worm and a three-handed symbol. ![[twc-dead-female.png]] She died from bludgeoning and claw wound (from the Ghasts). Her breath smells like she may have gotten poisoned. She's got a pack on, a dungeoneer's pack. A waterskin that seems to be full of water, rope, dagger with a curious curved blade design. Wand that is same as the one we found in vermeillon. Dirty bloodied leather notebook. Wally sees signs of a battle where the body was. ![[twc-evening-moon-stone.png]] Tiefling puts her evening moon into the moon carved into the stone. There's pale yellowish light that lights up the runes one by one. The pool turns into a healthier, earth brown with fresh green grass and clear water. Wally touches the water. It's quite warm, like a hot spring. Something continues to rise. It looks like a miniature star, a ball of fusion with gyroscopic rings. It seems to be resting on a dark metal rod. It looks like a morningstar weapon. Wally grabs the morning star and feels an incredible warmth. ![[twc-morning-star.png]] This is indeed [[The Star of the Morning|The Morning Star]]. Once a day it can do a solar flare and potentially blind creatures. You can shine ultraviolet light. Combined with [[The Evening Moon]] it can be a superweapon: the eclipse. Innate dunamantic magic. This was the contract Wally made - Xenia has it: > I Wally Goodcastle agree to that for the sound of my voice when I have retrieved Auntie Frieda Pigmouth's special favourite, lovely, darling ring from the foul clutches of stinking, awful (and not in a good way) Auntie Rottongue I will be granted the ability to message others in the same and be able to hear voices from afar. I agree this deed must be completed before the sun and moons collide. Signed and sealed with my true blood, Wally Goodcastle. ![[twc-strangled-spring.png]] I looked for [[The Betrayer Gods|Betrayer Gods]] stuff about Grovelthrash and `-odeus`. I learn: - [[Sehanine]] fought the primordials and betrayer gods. Some believe she was the wife or daughter of [[ttrpgs/Temporary White Circle/Corellon]] the archheart. - [[ttrpgs/Temporary White Circle/Torog|The Crawling King]] tunneled beneath The Pallid Elves. His servants sapped the color and life from that grove and it became [[The Pallid Grove|The Pallid Grove]]. We became the Pallid Elves. - Sehanine and [[ttrpgs/Temporary White Circle/Moradin]] built the King's Trap for Torog. It appeared to be a temple but it was a trap. - Sarenraei: she's more known as fire and light, not the sun. [[Pelor]] and [[Raei]] defeated Torog by luring him aboveground. Pelor pierced his body with 10,000 lances of sunlight. Torog's tears carved passageways. - Lots of things are dense for me. Stupid book. - Torog's warhammer carved from a single piece of obsidian. %% gracias: thank you de nada: you're welcome hola: hello cómo estás?: how are you? muy bien: very well Claro que hablo elfañol: of course I speak Elvish el frío nunca me molestó de todos modos: the cold never bothered me anyway ![[twc-how-to-elvish.png]] %% ^bfd088 The notebook-- Reya reads it out to us - Blood of sinners to cleanse the sin. She was a reluctant member of the cult. She dreams of fleeing. She can't seem to remember how she got into the cult. - She was afraid to face down the three guardians to get the artifact. Wally and I take watch. I cast *Lesser Restoration*. Pin is dead??? His whole face has been drawn in. It's wizened. His foot in particular looks like something has bitten into it and sucked out his life force. There's a curve along his foot. Initiative - Round 1 - Pin tries to attack me. Wally intercedes. Pin tries to drag me off. - Me - A: Perceive to see if there's any real Pin left. Nope! - BA: Sanctuary on myself. - Wally - Hits Pin for 18 (including a Smite) - Reya - In the name of the Queen, I sentence you to death! - Booming Blade. Misses - Xenia wake up! - Milla - Fire Bolt. 10 fire damage. - Xenia does a Fire Bolt. 9 fire damage. - Round 2 - Pin goes for Wally but misses three times in a row. He tries to leave and Wally does a Sentinel attack. 5 damage. - Me - A: Lesser Restoration but he doesn't react. :( - Wally - Just hits Pin. 10 damage. HDYWTDT Reya spins some story about 20 zombies coming to help us. 19 of them were killed by Reya and one jumped Pin. Totally don't believe her. Lolth is the queen that Reya speaks of. She is the Spider Queen. Goddess of deceit and spiders. We know she is an evil god. She is worshipped by the dark elves. Cast #sending to [[Archivist Adon Zeenoth|Zeenoth]] to tell him about Pin and ask for help researching Grovelthrash. ^225b6e - flask - notes on Molaesmyr - money > Here lies Pin Dunstorm, trusted monk of the Cobalt Soul, worshipper of the Knowing Mistress, who took his wounds stoically until they grew too much. He never shied away from battle and never let a harsh word dissuade him from his goals. May his last quest be fulfilled, and may his soul go home to the mountains of the Flotket Alps. Nobody else is poisoned or diseased. We take a long rest in the dome.
