# [[063_20220920 The hag that Wally kissed]] ## Session Summary > [!tldr] [[063_20220920 The hag that Wally kissed]] > The person who'd said she was Ahrisa shifted into the form of Auntie Frieda Pigmouth, the hag that Wally had struck a deal with! She seemed to be able to smell the gods that people worship. She gave us information that would help us get to the ring we (Wally) had promised to get for her... to "protect her investment". She said that three guardians protected the ring and that the three hags in the coven were Auntie Rottongue, Nanny, and Granny. All she really wanted was the ring, but if that meant killing Rottongue (but not the others), that was fine with her. > > She claimed she'd seen Ahrisa and her boyfriend Oenn around these parts too, and that they'd been saved by Nanny from banshees. They told Nanny of their love. Nanny told them about the Cave of Eternity, where they could be together forever. Auntie Frieda said they were on their way there. > > Auntie Frieda also showed us a way into Caes Mosor: a priestess' tunnel that went from the underneath the floorboards, where "Ahrisa" had been captive. We followed her, and the vines that had permeated the tunnels seemed to recede from her (and us) as we passed. After a while, we reached a threshold marked by a portcullis that Auntie Frieda needed to be invited across. She said she was not welcome there as she was no longer part of the coven, but that she was looking forward to rejoining it. She also told us that we should try to separate the hag sisters because they're stronger together. Then she disappeared! > > I received a Sending from Zeenoth to tell me that Grovelthrash is the hammer of Torog and that if we find it, we should be careful because it contains dark power. However, it would be good if we could recover it. > > I took the blue rose tea from Misty Grove and had a vision about separating the three hags and getting the ring. It's very old and it is mostly looted already by other adventurers. There is a mirror that you would have on a chest of drawers. Some things in the room are not dusty - they've clearly been recently broken. Hag knows that one of us is missing... the one that stank of the Dawnflower... but some of the smell has transferred over to Wally. - [[The Three Guardians]] guardians are powerful. - She claims that she did nothing with [[Ahrisa Mardoon]] and instead just observed. She thinks [[Oenn Jagentoth|the boyfriend]] was a bit dim. - She says some of her cousins are the banshees - they hate mirrors because they can't stand to look at what they've become. Some banshees screamed at Ahrisa and Oenn and they were petrified. Nanny came along and she saved them. They told her their story and Nanny sent them to [[The Cave of Eternity]]. ^3b93eb - The Savalirwood used to be a beautiful place of elven magic. There's still a lot of magic in the wood, but it's gone astray - which she likes. - Cave of eternity is westward, towards Shadycreek run. We may hear voices going there. - She really belongs here - she was kicked out of the tower. - She doesn't like [[Auntie Rottentongue]] and does want her ring back. They had a procedure they were working on and Rottongue got it from her. - She's just here keeping an eye on her investment - She says the tunnel is a [[Caes Mosor#Priestess's tunnel]]. - She offers to tell us where we can go through to [[ttrpgs/Temporary White Circle/The Feywild|The Feywild]]. - There are traces of those who have come here who worship [[ttrpgs/Temporary White Circle/Ioun]]. (She only smells those who worship someone.) She has smelled them but those paths have ended in death. - Xenia is intrigued by the prospect that being in the Cave of Eternity and living forever. We go down the tunnel and come across a bit of rubble. Xenia and Wally clear a space about 3 foot wide and there is a long tunnel. We go into it with Wally leading the way and the hag after him. Xenia casts Manifest Mind to make it scout ahead. We come across some architecture of Elven make. There are vines that are creeping towards us. They kind of recede as Auntie Pigmouth walks through. I cast Cure Wounds on the tiefling. %% Tiefling is at 32/37 %% It's cold and dark and damp. Eventually we find our way into a round opening. There's a tunnel entrance that's blocked by a portcullis. Apparently Auntie and Wally kissed-- that's how they sealed the deal! Reya uses her mage hand to open the portcullis but it makes a large sound. A rift in the air opens up, revealing a creature that was holding something like a marble and then it disappears abruptly. Auntie says "That might have been one of the [[Boggle]]s!" They are her pets and little helpers... or at least, they *were* the pets of the coven... but Auntie is no longer part of the coven. Manifest Mind goes ahead and a cat hisses at it. 1st: Healing Word, Healing Word 2nd: Bless, Aid 3rd: Cure Wounds on tiefling - Round 1 - Me: Held Toll the Dead - Xenia: Held a spell - Reya: Held a rapier attack - Milla: Colour Spray to blind the cat. Cat is blinded. - Cat: - Its feral cat guise drops and it's actually a dead corpse of a cat. - Reya attacks it for 19 damage but it's still alive. - The cat attacks Milla for 6 points of piercing. CON save. She saves with a 20. Nothing happens. - It claws at Milla but misses. - I do my Toll the Dead but it is resistant to necrotic damage. - Wally - Morningstar to the back of the head of the cat. HDYWTDT. Auntie says it was one of [[Auntie Rottentongue]]'s. She weirdly wants us to invite her, even though it's not really our place... we step across the threshold. Weaknesses of hag sisters? She claims she can't tell anything except that there is great power in the three of them together. Rottentongue? We just need to get the ring and get out alive. She disappears. The bright side turns away from me and the dark side faces me. - There are spots of light I see and I zoom in on them. It's like I'm flying across the surface of a moon. - I see a scene on the moon: three hags back to back, us surrounding them, lights of spells going back and forth. Something in the middle erupts: the three hags erupt a long way apart. We are standing at the bottom of a ladder that goes into a trap door.
