We kept exploring, set our spider friend free, and found our way into the hags' lair! All FOUR hags were there: the three (Nanny, Granny, and Rottongue) plus Pigmouth behind us, who apparently was invisible but with us all this time. > > The battle ensued. We killed Rottongue with the help of Pigmouth. Reya wrested the ring from Rottongue's body. The two remaining hags, Nanny and Granny, stopped trying to kill us and turned instead on Pigmouth, saying that she was the cause of corruption, and that we'd done something horribly wrong. Tries to talk to the wolf thing?? - Milla: I kinda missed it, lag!! I think she tried a cantrip but it saved. - Thing: - Frightens Wally! The rest of us are immune to this for 24 hours. - It runs forward and Booming Blade deals it 11 thunder damage. - Attacks Reya. Uncanny Dodge - Round 2 - Reya - Hits with rapier: 10 piercing, 5 thunder - Xenia: Fire Bolt, 10 fire damage. We rush over and see it's not the body of a child. It's very bloody and it's wearing a red hat and shredded clothes. Reya thinks it's a Redcap. We keep exploring. Xenia says this part is ancient elven too. More than 500 years old. Deliberately built as a labyrinth. We completed a subquest and set Keekeekookook free near lots of other spiders! Xenia thinks it's a religious anteroom before the main chamber. This is where priests or acolytes may have gathered. I spot footprints that are from many boggles, workman boot-like footprints, things being dragged (smaller beings like halflings), things that have been scraped, three pairs of smallish humanoid footprints. Auntie Frieda tells us [[Granny Pustreat]] is the smaller one. We'll soon find out. The one that has her ring is tall. [[The Hags' Lair]] We keep going and see green lights lighting the walls. We see a cauldron. We see a vast chamber with green, sickly glow everywhere. We don't see or hear anything at the moment. - Reya - 9 damage with a bow - [[Auntie Rottentongue]] attacked Reya - [[Nanny Filthtouch]]: *Vicious mockery.* Wisdom saving throw on Reya, who fails! 6 points of psychic damage - Milla: Holding Ice Knife - Round 2 - Granny: "Pigmouth! Come out come out wherever you are!" - Wally: Tries to lift the cauldron and fails. I hear a cackle from behind me. - Lair action: Con Save on Wally? He is poisoned until the end of his next turn. - Me - Move to try to see them - Twilight Sanctuary - Xenia: Dashes past the Stinking Cloud - Reya: Sleep by the beds, but nothing but spiders is in it. - Milla: Saves from Stinking Cloud. - Granny runs to Milla. 12 points of slashing damage. Milla makes the Con Save. - Round 3 - Granny? attacks Wally with *Ray of Sickness*, but she misses. - Wally grapples Granny. She says to him: "You fool! You've let the cause of the corruption back in". - Hag (Nanny) tries to *Polymorph* Wally. He saves! - Me - Failed my Con Save so I have no actions - Move - Xenia: Tries to cast *Hold Person*, but Rottentongue casts *Counterspell*. - Reya - *Hexblade's Curse* on Rottentongue - Shoots from hiding. 22 damage - Milla: *Color Spray*, but Nanny is not blinded. - Round 4 - Granny casts *Phantasmal Killer* at Wally. Wally saves!! - Nanny attempts *Polymorph* on Wally but Wally saves again. - Wally: 9 piercing damage plus 24 poison! - Rottentongue - Move, triggering an attack of opportunity from Reya but she misses. :( - *Lightning Bolt*. - Pigmouth joins the fight! - She hits Rottentongue to try to get the ring! Rottentongue is definitely dead. 8 damage on Granny and Nanny, speed is 0. Pigmouth made her save. - Boggles join the fight! - One attacks me and misses. - One misses Reya. - One hits Reya for 5 points of bludgeoning damage to Reya. She *Uncanny dodge*s. She only takes 2 damage. She still has temp HP though. - Round 5 - Granny: Opens jar of eyeballs and casts *Fireball* at Auntie Pigmouth! 29 damage on failure, 14 on success. I fail but I cast *Absorb Elements* to gain resistance to it. - Nanny Filthtouch attacks Pigmouth with her claws too! They seem to think Pigmouth has caused the corruption. We may have been wrong in helping her out. Everyone is Blessed. Everyone has 8 temp HP, except Reya who has 6 and me who has none. Reya is concentrating on *Protection from evil and good*. Scura is concentrating on *Bless*. It's Wally's turn on Round 5. We end here!
